Trev is easily as good as Saliba, that’s a weird comparison. Any CB playing in Artetas anti-football is bound to look better than they actually are.

Trev is not as good as VVD, but then I don’t think there are many CB’s around anymore who are. Long gone are the likes of JT, Carvalho, Thiago, Vidic etc.

For the price point we’d have to pay for let’s say Guehi, who’s an upgrade, albeit only slightly, + the wages he’d then demand, having Trev as that 3rd choice CB is a no brainer.

Squads are built on depth, Fergie won how many titles with Wes Brown as his 3rd/4th choice CB. We won a CL with Jose Bosingwa. Not everyone needs to be a superstar, just not a liability when called upon and Trev is no liability.

Depends in what context, I do have this recurring memory of getting off Pirates of the Caribbean in Florida as a child (I’m going to say around 7/8) and not only grabbing the wrong man’s hand thinking it was my Dad but also that wrong man holding it until we got into the light of the shop and then letting go once he’d seen me, embarrassed I mistook my own father and riddled with shame that I wasn’t good looking enough to abduct.

Chalobah spent most of his time at Chelsea with Gusto chasing shadows in the half space and Enzo box crashing with a 22 year old next to him.

Saliba is easily one of the most over hyped footballers about at the minute.

I actually disagree he is a squad player and is probably a first team player. However, seasons are long, Trev does get his share of injuries, so happy to see the places rotate between colwill, tosin and Chalobah.

I confess to not being the biggest Chalobah fan. I was all in favour of moving him on. I wanted to like him. I liked his big brother when he played for us. Chalobah is from Gypsy Hill in South London and he went to BTG school - more than familiar with the area. Really wanted to like the kid, but felt he wasn't good enough. When he came back to us on loan, he was good. Very good. I was surprised that we recalled him. Again, i think he has good physical attributes, etc, which you need in a CB, but I was not convinced by his ball playing abilities. I always liked my CB to be more Fik Tomori in style than Chalobah. . .But Chalobah has proved me wrong and may he continue to do so.
