Please clarify something for me.  In tennis, that would be ‘out’ since no part of the ball is touching the line, even though the curvature of the ball is such that the extreme left part of the ball is ‘directly above’ the right edge of the line.

what is the rule in football?

It's always been the whole ball including the curvature for as long as i can remember in football, it's never been about touching the line.

Thiago is winning it or we riot.

They think the World wants Messi to win it, when we all know most people want the socceroos to beat him.

Not with this version of Messi, no where near the late great Maradona

Be interesting to see how they perform when under pressure. Easy to look good when there’s little pressure on the ball. Without Messi zero chance but with him, who knows?

Could the Argies win this as a one man team again?

Far from a one man team. This Argentina side is superior to the 2014-2020 team.  Relying on Messi far less.

As I said I’ll judge them better when they’ve played against a team who challenges them. Take Messi out and I really don’t see them winning it, very similar to the 86 Argies.

I mean they did beat Brazil quite convincingly in the Copa America final with Messi being hardly involved.

Also the 86’-91’ Argentina team was one of the most well drilled international sides in history. Really dislike this ‘one man team’ talk.

86 was a one man team no question!

Superior to the team that reached a World Cup Final ?

wow ! Aussie goal !

It can work that way in knockout comps.

Almost all of the Romans (and probably the 7 years prior aswell) were better than the 2012 team.

I can't see this team as being superior in any way at all. Very disappointing tbh. I was hoping for more.
