Despite my dig earlier, Mendy's positioning was admittedly rubbish for Kane's goal - either engage and improve your angle or sit deep and increase the amount of time you have to react. Staying in no man's land is the worst of both worlds.

Not about to go into whataboutisms’, but Mount is the most protected player at the club. That’s why. People think he isn’t a problem when he certainly is one of them.

Okay, so he's a problem, but how is he more of a problem than Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech or any other attacker over the past 3 years? You say he shouldn't be shoehorned into the team ahead of more creative players, but until we get those creative players, then Mount being shoehorned in shouldn't even be a talking point.

Tbh there was already talk of putting Nkunku out wide to shoehorn Mount at CAM. Let’s isolate one of the most creative players in Europe to tailor Mount. 
 

It’s stuff like this where I take offense. I’ve also been pretty vocal on Havertz, Pulisic, etc. 

I agree with Scott, Mount isn’t playing any good but there really ain’t anyone better than him on the bench which is why all our managers have been ‘shoehorning’ him in the starting 11. As inconsistent as he’s been, he contributes more to the team than ziyech, pulisic and havertz. We need to focus on bringing in better attackers that drop mount versus putting the attention on him.
