They are likely the best positioned side to create an upset in the next round. I look at the rest of the ties and looks like it should be straightforward for Holland, Argentina, France, England, Croatia, Brazil and Spain.

The Americans play good football (reminds me of the redbull model how they play). It’s absolutely excruciating to watch the Dutch team play. Our “Phil Foden” hasn’t played a minute yet (Xavi Simons). The Americans play more like the classical Dutch way then we do atm

Pulisic through on goal, but Noppert saved with his leg.

Edit: now I see the slow-mo repeat, it's more a case of Pulisic aiming his shot againt Noppert's leg, who only then sticks out his leg :laugh2:

I was flicking back and forth between channels like a pro gamer last night, brilliant night of entertainment.

The thing that pisses me off the most is the way over the top superlatives that these pundits/commentators use. Danny Murphy is the worst along with Souness, Ferdinand, Lineker, all of them, Danny Murphy literally uses every superlative word in the dictionary, brilliant, fantastic, super, great, sublime, amazing,..........

This is why I love Roy ‘it’s their job’ Keane as a pundit. Rarely any bollocks with him and he’s hilarious on top of it.

Yeah he's matured into a great pundit, when he first started punditry years ago he was really uncomfortable in front of the camera, then he went into his grumpy face mode and just moaned at everything, but now he's mellowed, still has a moan, but in a positive manner now.

Even if they exit today I think this USA team has good potential. The next World Cup will be a big chance for them...

Fitness wise they are up there, but they are missing a cutting edge attack.

They are way to vulnerable to counters

And they rely on counters themselves so if they, like in this game, have 70% possession, they have no idea what to do with it

Easy

30% possession and 2-0😆

So far, the Americans have shown themselves masters of f**king up.

They don’t adapt their playing style

they aren’t good enough to not adapt

The Dutch are complaining it isn’t entertaining enough while we are 2-0 up 😆 typical

I don't know, this display appears to be getting our own @Valerieall hot under the collar 😉

It was ironic see the Dutch close down the US and stop them from playing well.

The US did not give up and had a number of half chances though no enough composure or technical ability.

Du Pay also now looks to be fit.

One of the Sports commentators on the match repeated LVG's exchange with a member of the press.

Reporter - This is the most boring Nederlands team I have ever seen.

LVG - Ok you can go home.

Reporter - No I will stay to the end.

LVG- Good, I will see you at the final.

I love those managers that clearly can't be bothered with the media anymore and have a good sense of humour to answer their silly remarks. LVG, Sarri, Mourinho... we can disagree with their tactical approach sometimes, but they do know what the hell they're trying to do.

This image seems to show that the ball didn't go completely over the line, even with the overhead camera slightly off center to the left of the line you cannot see grass between the ball and the line, if the camera was centred over the line it would look even more conclusive.

The only reason Souness was moaning is because he built Spain up at HT, despite only 3 shots and 1 goal from 83% possession, Souness was drooling over them.

Please clarify something for me.  In tennis, that would be ‘out’ since no part of the ball is touching the line, even though the curvature of the ball is such that the extreme left part of the ball is ‘directly above’ the right edge of the line.

what is the rule in football?
