World Cup Qatar 22

They reckon goal line technology would have picked up that the ball was still in play before Japan's goal.. Keeping the images secret though !

Anyway just shows you don't need to fart about with the ball for hours to win games,  we'll done Japan

Wonder what Germany will do/say about Japan's winner. Clearly the ball went out before they scored.

The ball wasn't completely over the line. Camera angles can be deceiving.

The bottom.of the ball is out but they reckon the curvature of the ball is not over the line !

Ah come on people it is so much funnier if the ball has gone out.

Havertz takes his brace well, looked up for it tonight.

For Germany just too late tohugh if they had decided to throw in towel at 1-2 and let in two own goals Spain would also be going home.

Some really fun games to watch. VAR should have done the job on that goal, but compare to other PK or offside decisions at the WC, it certainly not the worst. Japan deserved to progress based on their 2 big games performance, someone has to miss out in a group like that. Germany and Belgium just aren't good teams anymore, still hoping on one last great performance from their aging players, just never came.  No chance anyone will buy Lukaku from us now, that performance will be replayed for years to come.

Lukaku is finished at the top level now, cannot even score stat padding goals like he used to.

Unfortunately we spent a fortune on him and continue to do so for his last few months before he got to the "send to the glue factory" stage he is now.

Seen more effort from Havertz today than I ever have in a Chelsea shirt. Bloke is stealing a living with us.

He tends to perform in the clutch moments, even if this time it ultimately became in vain.

I remember when people were cursing at me and putting up all sorts of stats trying to defend Lukaku.

I've said for years, you can't win with Lukaku at CF. Guy only statpad when the opponent has lost fighting spirit

This image seems to show that the ball didn't go completely over the line, even with the overhead camera slightly off center to the left of the line you cannot see grass between the ball and the line, if the camera was centred over the line it would look even more conclusive.

The only reason Souness was moaning is because he built Spain up at HT, despite only 3 shots and 1 goal from 83% possession, Souness was drooling over them.

I was flicking back and forth between channels like a pro gamer last night, brilliant night of entertainment.

The thing that pisses me off the most is the way over the top superlatives that these pundits/commentators use. Danny Murphy is the worst along with Souness, Ferdinand, Lineker, all of them, Danny Murphy literally uses every superlative word in the dictionary, brilliant, fantastic, super, great, sublime, amazing,..........

I don't like them either, though Lineker occasionally is funny.

Yesterday's banter was interesting.

Talking about Belgium's troubles off the pitch, Lineker invites Shearer to talk about his experiences.

Shearer straight away goes off about Newcastle and Ruud.

Lineker, 'Alan, we are not meant to mention names.'

Shearer, 'Ah right.'

Mica Richards decides to chip in, with when he fell out with a manager and din't play when he was fit for months.

' I knew why, I just had to apolgise but I wouldn't then and as the weeks became months realised it was my pride stopping me doing the right thing. So I apologised and was straight back in the team.'

The it comes out not sure who asks, it was at City and it was with Pellegrini.

I only just found out about De Bruyne's comments on the Belgian team. His comments and his performances have been like that of a spoilt child. Saying they are too old to win the world cup is like giving up from the off, and his performances certainly suggested that he didn't care. He even complained when he received a MOTM award in the first game. I thought he was just being humble and calling out FIFA on their biases, but now I am thinking he is just spoilt little knobhead.

This Belgian team has always been unlikeable. Outside of Hazard, I haven't really liked any of them, and Hazard wasn't exactly the most professional player either. They have had too many people telling them how good they are and it's gone to their heads. Unless I am mistaken, only 4 of them were serial winners on the big stage, Courtois, Kompany, De Bruyne and Hazard. Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Thorgan Hazard, Fellaini, Witsel, Dembele, Carrasco, Mertens, Chadli, Lukaku, Batshuayi, and many more. They don't exactly have many titles at the very top of the game to their name.

I think De Bruyne is spoilt about playing in an average team yet on the MOTM award just think he felt he didn't deserve it.

I recall Leonardo Araujo formerly of Brazil talking about winning the world cup, he said you need 4 or 5 world class players.

I would say only Courtois and KDB were at that level the others not that standard or hampered by injuries.

I've personally got my own levels.

A - World class players - would walk into any team

B - Decent players - generally good in their positions and can sometimes deliver real quality.

C - Average - Just perform their role and offer little more.

I see England as having no A category players just B category yet mainly B category.

Holland have Van Dijk,

Agentina Messi,

France - Mbappe,

Brazil - Vinicius Junior, Casemiro, Thiago Silva, Alisson.

The Uruguay v Ghana game is well spicy. Andre Ayew just taken the sh*ttiest penalty you will see this World Cup. Uruguay with Suarez and Nunez have an astounding level of c**tery in the team.

Half-time, racism completely in control. The chances of hearing about 'telescopic legs' and 'natural athleticism' from the commentators in the second half has gone through the roof.

South Korea currently qualifying over Uruguay I'm guessing because of fewer yellow cards?

Despite having Uruguay in the sweepstake, I wouldn't mind seeing Suarez cry.
