Or they can wait until transfer deadline day when Chelsea will loan them out and their wages will be covered 100%?

Neither of them are ever going to be competing at the top level again, why would they sacrifice their final years wages.

Good for them…. but afraid I can’t endorse players who would knowingly and strategically try and screw the club actively in that manner, however stupid we may have been in giving out those contracts .

Hoping that they're good people and would like as little fuss as possible?

Given his high wage, I imagine that the club will be happy to get rid of his wages and break even. I think it’s the best we could hope for.

I don't see it as screwing over. We gave them a contract, we signed it, they signed it.

Because the flip side is Isak, who can't leave Newcastle for a bigger pay day because no one is paying 150m.

...have replied to the wider theme of this on the chilly thread. If he prefers money over game time and career pride, then that's his choice. Shameful, but his choice all the same.

Looks like 35mill euros fixed fee, 7mill euros in performance related add ons, and a sell on profit percentage, no mention of how much is worth but as they are not saying it is sizeable like the ones we got on Carney and veiga I would guess around 10 percent.

But I guess the question is, do you think Isak is right to try and force his way out? Or should he honour his contract?

Ultimately Sterling and chilwell have a few years left and then that's their career over. Id find it difficult to take a massive pay cut to play for West Ham

I think it is normal for Isak to want to leave. It is shameful and unprofessional the way he has acted since then. The club have made their position clear and so he should honour it for now, having a discussion on how to get out.

I see this is now confirmed on the club website.

Christopher Nkunku departs for AC Milan

A shame it didn't work out after that pre-season injury and good luck to him in Serie A

May his balloons be bountiful.

Wish him the best. Seems harmless enough. If ever a player failed the eye test it was this one. One good preseason game, picked up an injury, and then appeared to give up.

It's alright though as it was all Jackson's fault.
