Yes, defending wasn't great - but why did we not attack ? why against leeds and southampton did we not create anything despite being behind? Why is tuchel playing the same players who he admits don't have the right mentality?

Call the players out only leads to one thing.....it's his tactics, his stubbornness with players, and his unwillingness to see the obvious, his obsession with wingbacks. A midfield like a sieve and a forward line that has no clue what they are doing once the ball gets to the opponents box.  It's pathetic to watch, it's been going on far too long and he's been living on the CL luck by the skin of his teeth.  Now that the curtains have been opened, we can see what's behind them.  Time he took ownership of his decisions to continually force players to play out of position and continually select players that are out of form.  He needs to turn this around pretty damn quick but his job just got a lot harder by calling out the players though.  Coach this team, don't look for excuses.

It's not the players fault because they have no direction or tactics to follow. 

 

It seems like Tuchel says " go out there & let's see what happens".

Also, when certain players don't work he doesn't make changes soon enough.

I know but that's why Tuchel should have made the compromise, everyone knew that Kante simply won't be fit to play for a full season.

They sold him cause they secured Tchouameni prior to that, we should have compensated and signed another DM this transfer window.

I say we should have signed 2 Dms. We loaned Saul Last season but he was only good to play at wingback , besides with this being an extraordinary season with games crammed up we need more cover for kova kante and jorgi but Tuchel still wants to get rid of Gilmour .

Yea bro I agree, I don't see how did Tuchel think that we could play a full season without any kind of backup nor new signing, he gave up on Gilmour too fast which was the cheapest option I mean just keep him in the squad... Not sure what has happen there.

Same thing that happened with Conte and Costa. The pride comes before a fall.  I figured it was something big when Tuchel sent Gilmour to go play with the u 21s during the pre season tour but kept Barkley in the squad. I will never forget how good Billy was against Everton and Liverpool before the Virus shut down the premiership

In cl final we lost Silva who imo the best cb in pl after 30min and we lost nothing. Let's say instead of Silva we lost Kante, it would have been a completely different story. No chance we could control city attack for 90 min. At that game, we absolutely blunted city attack through the middle. All thanks to Kante. 

This is what Kante offer you that no other player in the world can offer as what Tuchel said. Ability to absolutely destroyed opp attack and at the same time offer you offer ball progression and offensive output (I believe Mount last goal against Madrid in semi came after Kante robbed the ball from Madrid player, ran forward then feed puli who then feed Mount)  

When he played well, it is very easy for you to dominate the game and stop your opp to play and Kante can do this almost single handedly and suddenly you think the whole team play well. Hmm we played the exact same team minus Kante  vs spurs n leeds just 1 week apart and it was two very different game. 

 

 

No question that Kante is a great player that allows you to do a lot more tactically.

But Chelsea aught to have the coaching and the firepower to get past mid-tier teams without Kante in the lineup.

 

Especially as he's getting older and on the injury list a bit more we can't be a team that only wins when he's in the lineup.
