Honestly, I think a year-long loan to another club with an option to buy would prove everyone right, so we can all just move on. Enzo will play how he plays over there while we still stink over here.
People will say he's still the same disappointing player over there, and some of us will point out that we still stink even without him. 😉

I can still see the Alvarez to Barcelona deal happening at some point, freeing up cash for Simeone to get Fernandez and maybe a replacement striker, maybe someone like Marmoush.

Think we will see a lot more movement once Rodri to Real Madrid gathers pace. If it does. Because all you see at the moment is Rodri whoring around Real Madrid's dick, whereas it's obvious for everybody to see that it's most definitely Mourinho stalling this move as he's always preferred a pivot of two industrial players in that area, rather than players who control the game because that's not how his tactics work.

City would only be left with Anderson as their only top center midfielder should Rodri leave. Kovacic, Reijnders and Gonzalez are average options that I am sure City and Maresca do not even think of pairing Anderson with.

This would leave the door open for them to bid for Enzo Fernandez. It is the only club who would currently have the money and need for him IMHO. Even if Rodri to Real Madrid does not happen, I surely do not see Real Madrid spending another 100M on another player after Diomande. And PSG is stacked in midfield and as it looks very much concentrated on doing their work in the attacking area.

What boggles my mind isn't that people dislike Enzo, but that they like the rest of the players in the squad; there is a gulf the size of Mexico separating this roster from City, Arsenal, and even Liverpool.

A valuation is meaningless, if clubs were interested they’d be bidding and trying to unsettle. Real Madrid even went as far as releasing a statement saying they don’t want him lmao. Ego of Mbappe with the ability of Dewsbury Hall.

We know this isn't true. It's like saying nobody is interested in Haaland because nobody is bidding for him. Most top clubs in world football would take Enzo, but they don't have the £120m to pay for him or they're spending it on other pressing positions.

Haaland hasnt spent the summer openly seeking a move away from City though so the comparison doesn't really work.

Enzo wants to leave and even if we value him too highly clubs know we're willing to sell him. I imagine a combination of attitude issues and the fact that despite his decent output in terms of G/A, Enzo remains a fairly limited passer who's pretty shaky defensively is what's putting clubs off, rather than our valuation.

Well we have a difference in opinion on his playing ability so we won't go into that, but as far as I know he hasn't been desperate for a move, by the sounds of it he's happy to stay but would like to go to Real Madrid and tbh I think every player we have barring a couple thinks the same. If he kicks off demanding a move and refuses to train/play then I'll happily show him the door and want him gone. If I'm honest I think his agent has made the situation a lot more uncomfortable for than us should be, and I think that's more on him than Enzo.

We don't sort out this CM issue, we will be forced to play him in the pivot.

Hmm, you're conflating no public bid with no interest, and that's simply not how top-end transfers work.

Before anyone submits a £100m+ bid, there are inquiries through agents and intermediaries to establish whether a deal is even realistic: Is the club willing to sell? What's the expected fee? Does the player want the move?

If Chelsea's answer is "£120m+ or don't bother," clubs that can't or won't structure a deal of that size simply move on. Some don't have the funds, some need to sell players first, and others have different priorities that window. None of that tells you how highly they rate the player.

Enzo himself has hardly looked "settled," so there isn't even a need to "unsettle" him. The only question is whether a deal is financially viable.

That would screw up our window. Have a sneaky feeling they have already spent his fee, sounds crazy, and I know they keep saying they can afford to amortise 3 £100m+ players. But can they really? Rogers also plays predominantly in the pockets occupied by Enzo.

I think the only realistic opening is Atleti but I think that could only happen if the Alvarez deal happens and happens with enough time for Simeone to take Fernandez and get a replacement striker to bolster his attack. Seems like too many moving parts for it to happen.

I don't think anyone else has the interest for him, especially not North of 100m

I think that's a reasonable take to be fair to you. Agents often cause a lot of unnecessary friction.
