So? Real Madrid and PSG don't want him. I doubt they'd take many players from our squad right now—they're simply (a lot) better teams.

I don't think Enzo is some world-beater either. But I find the "he's obviously crap because nobody is bidding" argument pretty laughable when he's priced at a level that only Madrid, PSG, and maybe two or three Premier League clubs could realistically afford.

That's an incredibly small market to begin with.

He could do this, but since he is under contract at Chelsea I assume that any prospective new club would either have to pay a transfer fee, or pay out the rest of Enzo's contract.

The latter + some nominal compensation, which is substantially less than the 120m that the club is reportedly asking for. If a player wants to go, there's nothing a club can do to stop them. Enzo just happens to be in the unenviable position where the clubs he wants to go to, don't want him.
