Chelsea 23/24 Season Friendlies Match Thread

Featured Replies

Just saw some highlights, what kind of pitch was that? It's quite dangerous to be blunt, luckily not more players tripped over or got hurt.

A solid pre-season so far, think the first league game will be a high scoring one.

They staged an Ed Sheeran concert at the stadium on July 29th with concert-goers allowed onto the unprotected playing surface. Hence the cow paddock.

Craig Burley is such a negative tw*t

Not convinced he's a Chelsea fan in the slightest, he does nothing but slag us off at every opportunity. When we won the Club World Cup he had nothing but bad things to say about it, calling it a meaningless trophy, just a miserable twat. We could win the quadruple and he would probably say something like "But can we do it next season?"

Overall I thought we were very good. Dortmund were lucky to get their goal and I thought we were very unfortunate to leave the match without scoring 3+.

Defensively we were solid and Colwill looks a fine footballer. Silva in the flesh is a bloody experience. 39 years old and he was doing things that had the mouths of the entire crowd drop. Thought Gallagher was fantastic. He was everywhere and is slowly improving his build up game (touch, positioning, moving it quickly, etc). Should definitely be starting against Liverpool. Enzo is starting to worry me. Looks well off.

Sterling is so indecisive. Malo Gusto is a bloody unit.

Moment of last night for me was getting Maatsen's attention. 😂

He hates football, hes a bitter prick because he missed out on the era where wages skyrocketed by a few years and just hates everything now. I have no idea why he keeps getting commentator jobs.

it really is amazing how our defence seems to be sorted out after just a few weeks! the big gaps and the opposition having 2 or 3 players running into the box unmarked isn't happening any more, we had that problem for 3 years and it stooped (I hope) in just a few weeks, take note Frank!!

More importantly, did you get to the Ed Sheeran concert?

Craig Burley’s kamikaze back pass cost us the 96 semi final at Villa Park - some of the team (Hughes certainly) ripped him big style for it.  He has probably had a snot on ever since.
