It's not about the result, but about getting match fit and to find the right players for the preferred system. 

 

Thought I'd just put in the usual comment on our pre-season 

Will we have any players left by the time this starts?

I suspect we will see quite a few players getting decent minutes in the early pre-season games and then end up going out on loan this season. Some of the more senior squad players probably won't feature until later in the pre-season. I imagine the Dortmund game will give us a decent idea about how we might line up next season.

The Auba/Lukaku partnership will be exciting to watch!

With the first and possibly second game being 45mins per player be good to have a smaller squad to achieve this!

Probably be a good idea to miss out on watching pre-season anyway, fingers crossed for the first league game that we have a team that is worth watching by then.

No idea, but weren't some of the friendlies live on the club's app last year?

I remember the app being crap last year and I think some were not even broadcasted in the end. The site is saying the app again, but also Sky Sports?

I had tickets to the Newcastle match. Sold them, can't be bothered.

You disappoint me, Scott  If Chelsea was playing near me, I'd go, even if it's only a bunch of kids.

Moses Caceido transfer negotiations continue with Tony Bloom after the Brighton friendly.

I can watch them all. So very excited. Will mess my sleep pattern up though with some of them kick off times.

I've been to 4 previous US tour games so I've had my fill. At $180 USD (166 Euro) to watch what is basically a reserve match it's just not worth it and after this past disastrous season I'm just not feeling very hopeful of this squad having much success.

Well yes, if put it like that, I get it. Still, Clearwater has a lot to answer for, getting you into a blue funk 

Out of curiosity if anyone on here knows, have we ever had a bad pre-season and went on to have a good football season? Typically I've noticed that when we have a bad pre-season we tend to have a bad season in general. But pre-season is never something that sticks in my mind so I can't really remember much. 

I got the chance to see us in Charlotte the season it went so poorly under Jose. While it was great to see the team in person, the quality of football for the price of the ticket was poor. Expectations of those going to these type matches have to realistic. As a South Carolinian, I'm grateful for the chance to have seen players like Hazard, Zlatan, Essien, Slippy G, JT, Dave (😭), and others in person. 

 

I unfortunately also saw Cuadrado, but what can you do?
