If we can get this over the line it’s a no brainer.

Already a Top 5 PL CB and strengthens the weakest part of our current defence.

It’s one of those transfers where instead of moaning about his age we should be praising it.

Colwill is our weakest starter in that defence (GK aside), physically and mentally he’s too weak. Huijsen is an upgrade in every aspect.

I'd take Braithwaite before Huijsen but undeniably both would be a significant improvement on our current options.

I'm too excited about this signing to post in this thread. There's no way we get it over the line, it makes too much sense.

Yes please, an improvement on what we have, we have demonstrated the ability to outbid our rivals for lesser prospects than this. Hope we get it done- even at a relatively high price, if need be.

Real Madrid want him. I guess this one is dead in the water now.

Crazy how overrated this guy has become, people just ignore basic mistakes he's made.

I'm sure he would do better at Madrid who have the experience to guide him through his development but us having Huijsen is not going to make or break our season.

Read somewhere that we are interested in David Hancko. Even though he is 27 I can now see this happening more than Huijsen. I was kind of hoping Real would go for Colwill (pure profit for us) leaving the door open for us with Huijsen. But with him being Spanish and a big Ramos fan, this seems the more sensible and plausible move.

Maresca continues to lead a charmed life with no scrutiny about some of our results and performances, whilst with every closing week with our lack of CL qualifcation the fumbling of our targets appears in front of our eyes. We could have had this lad agreed and committed weeks ago and ready for the CWC

If we are really only after one CB then its best if we do avoid.
