Alonso. Okay. Alright. He has a CV that is a bit more impressive than Liam Rosenior. Only one of them won the World Cup as a player. Guess which one? Alonso grew up playing football on the same San Sebastian beach as Mikel Arteta. Ah, that is nice. Okay, Xabi, not too shabby, Alonso. Yeah, we can maybe get over his scouse connection. Alonso never got along with Benitez which is a plus.

Chelsea to make an announcement before the world cup. I wonder if Xabi fancies managing a team on Saturday? We're having a kickabout in Norf London and could do with some tactics and strategies etc.

Just more of the same and obvious reports coming out today. This time from TheTimes.

I think Xabi Alonso is a great guy/manager but I just think he would be better off going to Liverpool. I just think Chelsea is the wrong club for him!

Tchouameni and Gular are rumoured to be 2 of Alonso’s targets. I’d suffer them both with EF going the other way…..ok then.

Either way it will be nice to be shopping at RM again.

Could we throw Gusto in as a BOGOF as well

Such bull sh*t 😂

Whoever these two appoint will be the wrong person.

They have proven time and again that they are completely clueless.

If Alonso agrees to come work with them, then he's also clueless.

They will give him "full control" this window and when they inevitably fail to actually secure any of his primary targets, they will blame him for being 'unrealistic' and wrest control again in January.

We've already seen that narrative play out with Tuchel and Boehly - lost of all of his primary targets to a cash-strapped Barcelona and then blamed Tuchel, now Boehly, for not picking the right compromise solutions.

Is that their way of saying the other managers we hired were so sh*t we didn’t want/trust their input??

and/or we havent got a pot to piss in because we are close to spending limits and we cant shift the dross we have bought, so we wont be bringing anyone in.

DiMarzio is simply working off the assumption that the dimwits don’t change.

No one knows anything yet.

It's really hard to envision a change in policy without at least one of Winstanley or Stewart leaving.

All points to him going to Liverpool and us ending up with Marco Silva. As usual with their transfer targets they will argue they tried, and he was just an option.

As some in here have said before, this board does like to gaslight the fans with good options that end up not being true. Watch them saying “we tried Alonso but he wanted Liverpool, so here’s Silva”.

I guess it's not technically gaslighting when we don't fall for it anymore
