Slight question marks about what happened at Madrid but it is a funny changing room. One thing is that I bet it will massively annoy the Liverpool fans. I reckon most of them want him instead of Slot.Alonso is certainly a better fit for their players than Slot, he prefers a quicker style of football, something they are used to under Klopp. With them going from that to slow build up play they now have under Slot, I can understand why they have hated their football so much this season.

We will need to see what Florentino says later this afternoon, he's called a press conference at 6pm CET.

At the end of the 10 years ‘turning a profit on the asset (CFC LDN)’ is all that matters to them. With TV rights going the way they are, that’s all their projections are. They have to do the bare minimum to keep us in the PL and eating from that table. If they can flip a few players in the meantime for some nice extra pennies then that’s a bonus. What happens on the pitch has absolutely no bearing on how they see the asset (not club)I'm not going to disagree that's the overall plan but I'm not sure why they'd not look after their investment in the meantime. No other owner is in it just for the love of the game especially nowadays, Roman was a one off - well maybe the City & PSG owners. It's not as if they haven't spent the money trying its just they're very bad at it. Looking past all the cheating the fact City have taken over us in terms of quality and value is down to the investment made on top of being a very well ran club. Do you not think Man City are worth more now than if the owners just left them as a mid to lower table team. As we've proven money doesn't buy you trophies alone. If things go on as they are we could end up like Spurs but without the modern Stadium. While given the rising prices they could still sell for a profit the value would be much lower than if we were serial trophy winners. I don't see why they wouldn't try to succeed while they're here, it would be counterintuitive to just let the club drop into mid table obscurity. Theres the platform to make this club an awful lot more valuable and the reason they bought it in the first place.I haven't seen any evidence of them siphoning money out of the club. From my understanding its very different from say the Glasers using profits to pay off the loan used to buy the club. I think is just incompetence rather than anything sinister, which gives me a slither of hope they can mend their ways.

What Perez needs to do is to sell one of Mbappe or Vinicius. Something that drastic will get everyone else in line.

But we all know that Mourinho is not the same one.

He's as undisciplined as many of those in the dressing room. Check out him ambushing the ref in Roma's underground car park and abusing him. And his behaviour at Benfica. If he's appointed, sit back and enjoy the RM meltdown.
May 12May 12 🗣️ @SkyKaveh on Chelsea target Xabi Alonso: “It's an open secret that his dream job is to manage Liverpool”(🎥 via @SkySportsNews)Not to say that he doesn’t want us. Suppose it’s abit like any club legend in management.

May 12May 12 Can the Sporting Directors change their plan? Yes. Yes they can. They have changed before - when they first took over the club they were not signing kids but they were signing really useless burn out players like Sterling and Aubameyang - so yes they can change. In fact, it is a perhaps a wrong assumption to think that these ass-clowns have a "plan". A top club needs a top manager. With no champions league football on the horizon IF you want all our 'top' players to stay and avoid a mass exodus then you have to give them players something - an incentive of playing for a top quality manager. They must know by now that in football you MUST have the right manager. Liam got no respect from the players because the players realised in minutes that he didnt have a fcucking clue. WWRD - What would Roman do? He would've gone out and got us that bloke from PSG. A lot of money sure - but how much did we just give Liam Rosenior in a pay out? Of course, these 5 clowns are not capable of doing that . . .So, here we are wwith talk of Alonso and then the bait and switch and we get . . .Oliver Glasner?
May 12May 12 The question with either Alonso with whether he can make the step up from a mid level club to elite (granted, I know we are not currently elite). He failed at Madrid so it does make me question his man management. Surely Iraola will stay at Bournemouth if they make champions league? Surely?!

I believe Romans model got found out towards the end and he wasn’t hiring or buying elite players. He had dropped from title challengers to top 4 challengers. Granted, there was ALOT to political issues going on and he clearly had to step back a little and couldn’t enter the UK so will cut him some slack.

May 12May 12 Alonso could be absoluteley creaming himself at the prospect of coming to Chelsea. BUT once he has a face to face meeting with the jokers pretending to be SDs, he will run a mile. At least we can rule out Gary O'Neil now as he's actually commited the cardinal sin, and pointed out what a sh*t job they did in the transfer window.

May 12May 12 Chelsea have also MET with Iraola. Something that has been acknowledged by the recruitment department is the need for the team to become more physical. That heightens the appeal of Iraola. There is a sense he is capable of scaling up to a bigger job. (@guardian_sport)
