no chelsea player in pfa nominations

Featured Replies

not really surprised...who has stood out for us this season? And yet, the list includes Gerrard again!!! Is it in the players' contracts across the land that you have to vote for the overrated tool every season?!

The others nominated are Ronaldo (what a shock), David James icon_eek.gif , fabregas, adebayor and torres...

problem with this award is the players start voting in jan when there is so much time left in season for things to change, hence presence of two arse players who have played sh*te for the last few months as arse have disappeared from all competitions...obviously ronaldo is nailed on to win it anyway

not really a shock. weve never had anything when these kinda things happen. llok back at the 2 seasons we walked the league. barely any of our players won a player of the month, and i think jose only won one manager of the month. total joke.

its a sign of the poor performances individually over the season we have no players in the vote

ronaldo will win it hands down goota keep the press masturbating over him

torres has only performed at anfield and gerrard has to be on the list or the scousers start moaning

the others are there just to make up the numbers

That list looks fair, except for Gerrard.

I actually think if Ballack had put in a full season for us he'd be in the running, his been very very good this season.

To an extent yes, but by the same token, the fact that players who would have been in the running (Drogba, Ballack, etc) missed large portions of the season due to injuries, ACN duty, etc.

Christiano Ronaldo is a pretty clear and deserved winner I think. We may not like the guy (I certainly don't), but his had a damn fine season.

For a team with no top players we've done pretty well this year! I agree that the timing of the votes is all wrong, should be left till a couple of weeks before the end of the season.

The first season we won the premiership 4 of the 9 awards went to Chelsea players (Drogba, Cole, Terry, Robben) and Mourinho won twice.

really? i thought he only won once.

edit: according to wikipedia we had 4 player awards in 2004/2005 and only one 2005/2006. jose won 2 in 2004/2005 and none in 2005/2006.

We won every single game in october and january and Grant didn't get a nomination for coach of the month..

Who cares?, it's unlucky anyway...

Whatever we think of him there is no doubt Ronalde is head and shoulders above everyone else for this award and fully deserves it.

As for Gerrard, well he'll always be a c**t won't he?

2nd in the table with a GD of 36 but Joey Cole has been the best front man.

Player of the season, a vote for Riccy from me. Mr Consistency who kept Blues going particularly through the heavy injury list period and the ACN.

For the pfa contest Ronaldo and James are the only real candidates, the rest are there to give the list some credibility as a list of so called top players.

How can you define a list of top players when you are struggling with the overall problem of a national side failing in Europe against the heavyweights of world football - Russia,Croatia, Israel......

Leaves the goalkeeper and the outstanding foreigner!

If the players are individually before, does that mean Grant is responsible for motivating them to victory?

Gerrard deserves to be there. He's scored 21 goals and tops Liverpool's assists. He still is Liverpool.
