byatt
Something like that to me, would be priceless, i'd sell other things if i got hard-up rather than that
loz
Can't really pass judgment on it without knowing the circumstances. To be entirely honest just now I would sell it. We are really struggling at the moment from a financial perspective thanks largely to the hike in utility bills and general increases in prices at the supermarket etc. Every month my overdraft grows and at the moment we are feeling pretty down about affording Mini Loz's birthday and Christmas for both the kids. So for me the choice would be between keeping a great piece of club history or digging my family out of a pretty big hole, giving my kids not just one great Christmas but lots of great Christmases and we can also send Mini Loz to all the fun after school things that you need to pay for that we currently can't. To be honest when I put it like that it would be a bloody easy decision to make!

Mod
The guy is a 'Company Director' of somewhere, so I'm guessing he's got a few quid in the bank already and in that sort of position, he should the give proceeds to charity! He's clearly milking it for all it's worth.. 'Roman to give him 100 grand'? Roman should now claim it back as property of Chelsea Football Club now Jose is gone. loz
Company director means nothing though - he could be the company director of a firm that flogs baseball caps down the market!
Mod
Maybe, but money goes to money, so I doubt it.
blizeH
I don't blame him at all really, especially as Jose has now left. It's the sort of thing I really, really wouldn't want to sell, but like all things with a strong personal meaning that are also worth a lot of money; after time they'll just be put somewhere hidden away (like he said, it was just stashed away in his safe) and you start to wonder what you could do with the money, and it's time to move it on. He'll still have the memories, a very lucky guy I guess :(
Essien's Strike
being a company director doesnt mean jack, you can have a small business and not be making any money and still have that title. tbh, after staring lovingly at it for a couple of years, any item is gonna lose its shine and right now everyone is broke as hell - and if he didnt get a tracker mortgage then well.... kids gotta be fed.... midlandblue
The mans entitled to do with it what ever he wants and for what ever reason he choses, the only mistake he has made is letting the news make its way to the press.
loz
If he wants to really cash in he needs to take advantage of the concept of supply and demand. Therefore he should go here to sell it

SiameseJesus
I would sell it, I could do a lot with 20k at the moment. I love Chelsea but my own wellbeing is far more important.

just
Let me get this clear. The guy selling is a company director called................ Sebastien! Reckons he's been a Matt Harding ST since '93? hhhhhhhhhm. Personally I'd like a bit more proof of his allegedly, "Blue Blood". Sounds like a JCL cashing in to me. bennyboy1976
Good luck to him, i would do the same thing. Times are hard for everyone, and your family come first. I have given (the same as most football fans) thousands to my club over the years, i wouldn't see any of the players giving me any of their hard earned dough if times got too hard for me, so again good luck to him. TheWestwayWonder
Agreed: I would sell the thing, especially if 20000 is going to help pay for season tickets the next few years, or feeding his love for the club in some other way It wouldve been nice to see him sell it to the club to put in the museum, but I guess they dont really need another one
