Reports in Italy claim that Didier Drogba has held talks with Jose Mourinho’s agent and an Inter official in a development that is sure to increase speculation regarding a possible move to Serie A for the Chelsea striker.

Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that the Ivory Coast international was joined by one of his own representatives as he met with Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes and Inter’s general manager Marco Branca in a Fulham restaurant on Monday night.

I wouldn't sell him until a replacement has put pen to paper, with no chance of City scuppering the deal at the last minute

Some will say, at the moment Drogba is irreplaceable (considering whats available). ;)

Good, bye bye Didier.

World class on his day, but we haven't had a fit and motivated DD for a season and a bit now, so if we can get any sort of decent wonga from Inter, I say go for it.

Just a question what he'll be worth. If they offer for him as much as they've offered for Frank in the summer then we shall do with them what Real did with us. But if he'll give enough cash in it would be worth a thought - given the condition that Scolari/Kenyon have tracked another aim already - not being Robinho

We should really cash in on Didier while we still can, definitely seen the best of him in a Chelsea shirt and he doesn't look able of recreating that anytime soon

Drogba wouldn't be amused if the deal is done and then Jose goes off to City...

Say City is not willing to bid for Drogba?

Last time Jose denied something about a hotel meeting, it turned out to be true.

I wonder what Drogba would say. I wonder if he is chums with these guys. He has done almost nothing positive on the field this year and has been a gigantic distraction with only a little bit of playing time. I have forgotten what it was like to cheer for him because I have spent the last 6 months being pissed off.

If he goes, he goes. Im not bothered about the fee, but we need to get some kind of replacements in (because, imo, we already need a striker) and then, I say, cut bait.

For me, the trouble and disorder he causes is no longer justified by what he offers.

Funny you should say that. Rumours up here (Manchester) are very strong that we will be putting in a bid for Drogba.

It would be a fantastic signing for us and just what we need, but it wont happen if Inter go in for him, or if Roman is still seething over us nicking Robinho from his clutches.

To be honest, I hope Drogba leaves, he's made it aparantley clear that he doesn't want to be here and I don't want a player at my club who doesn't want to be here.

Drogba has given us about one and a half good seasons, got sent off in the CL final, and had nothing good to say about Chelsea since he got here. Personally I hope he fu*ks off to Italy and fails because he is so one dimensional it's unture. Honestly I'd rather Ibrahimovic at Chelsea than I would Drogba.

A swap deal with adriano? we'd be the biggest mugs if we did that. I've seen nothing from Adriano in two years that suggests a swap would be a fair deal. sell Drogba for every penny we can get, and then get in someone who actually cares. Aguerro, Huntelaar, Villa, or Benzema would be more beneficial to the team than that whiny pr*ck

Drogba will be going nowhere near a club not in the Champions League - he hasn't enough of his career left to be prepared to play it out in the UEFA Cup.

Personally I think we won't shift Drogba now or if we do it will or a vastly reduced price as we have seen the best of him.

he wont go to city, evn for the ridiculous money they will offer. he wants to play in italy and for jose, he will go to inter. can i just ask you how you feel about the hypocrisy from city fans over your billionaire owners? considering pretty much every single city fan hated chelsea because they were rich and most said they would hate to see their club sell their soul like chelsea did, its pretty sad to see them all now shouting about being the richest club in the world and how they can buy anyone.

Billion dollar body, two-cents brain.

I have long been sick of him, great when he wants but damned annoying the rest of the time. I am just pissed off with him and want him and his dodgy leg out.

How many more times must he humiliate us before we get rid?

Or do we have to put up with it time and time again because on his day he is a damned fine striker?

I think Drogs will stay with us at least the remainder of this season. His back-to-back injuries effect his form too much. He is not an easy player that is for sure but when in form there is not many in the world who can do what he can do.

People here are too emotional at the moment from the coin incident. You have to remember how frustrating for Drogs this whole season has been. He feels bad about the CL final and there is a new coach and he has had no chance to show everybody how good he can be because of the injuries. Not easy for him that is for sure.

There is no miracle man we can bring in January who from the first game on starts scoring hat full of goals. Any new player to the team there is that period of adjusting and getting to know the team etc.

I much rather have Drogba back in good shape than buy somebody in January. We should wait until summer to catch a bigger fish.

Obviously it would be a good solution to get rid of him. He's nowhere near the form he used to be (OK this is not his fault I don't blame him for this but whatever the excuses are - it's not helping us winning the games. And he has said more than once, more than twice, more than often enough that he doesn't want to stay with us no more. So although he's claimed his commitment from time to time, I think it's not sensible to keep him here against his will. His meeting with Inter officials sums it up well enough: he wants to quit. He couldn't have said it more clearly.

What makes me thinking about it though is that we need a capable striker, and as we in money shortage selling Didier would free some cash we could spend in getting a replacement. However the plan to swap Adriano for Drogba is far away from what I think to be a smart deal. Adriano has proven he can finish but only if he likes - his discipline is worrying and troubling. So if Chelsea wants to have a replacement or even an improvement - Adriano seems to be the wrong choice. Someone who comes too late to the training session isn't someone to rely on.

I have to say, much as it sicken me to admit it, but I am SO jealous of L*verpool for snaffling Torres. They have a world class striker, with his best years ahead of him and a great attitude, who wants to stay at the club for life.

Why can't we sodding well find that?

I want so much to have a JT or a Lamps or even an Eidur equivalent up front - a player who makes his name at Chels and has a genuine love for the club. A player who will try his hardest, stay out of the f**king tabloids, and won't mouth off everytime he's benched, or on international duty.

IF, fingers crossed, we say goodbye to DD, I just hope our scouting network pays dividends for once, and we identify the young, talented, hungry striker we need, who we can actually build a team around, and who we can rely on to do the job on the pitch, and keep his f*king mouth shut off it.

Agree, Drogba out BUT only once we find a replacement who is going to take chelsea's up a level. The next striker we buy needs to be of a very high quality.

Tevez is having trouble at united, anyone like that option?? (although i would love to see Aguerro at Cheslea)

I am fed up with Drogba and have never liked him as a person (which doesn't matter to me) but I think selling him in January could be a mistake for two reasons...

the first being if we have not identified a decent replacement who is available for CL or worse if we have and then lose him at the last minute, we are in trouble...

the second being the goal he scored against Burnley was decent and he is not match fit, if he came into some form and played out the season it is not beyond the realms of imagination to think he could bag 15 or so goals and maybe play in importent games that again put him back amongst the strikers that teams would like to buy.

at the moment his attitude and his fitness are two big doubts that could devalue him while also limiting the number of clubs interested.

I would rather he didn't get his way and end up back with Mourinho as if anyone can get the bst out of him it could be him, why let one of the best teams in europe who are

likely to be a big threat to our CL hopes have a player who we know on his day is almost unplayable at a time in his career when he would also be cheap (12-16 mill?)

of course my idea could backfire and he could play three or four times for us, act an arse, get injured or sent off and generally make us so impressed with Gallas's temperement

that we wish we had kept him and given Drogba away.

I'm confused now but basically saying that there are two ways of looking at it.

We have done some seemingly daft transfer deals in their time.. but I dont think the present regime would sell our best and world class stricker without having lined up a credible replacement... We have Anelka and Kalou leading from the front into the premeirship and champions League .... yeah right ! (as much as I like them both)

Drogba is going nowhere is my prediction and I am lookign forward to his return

as a player id love him to stay at the club, as a person he can get the f*ck out. if he has been talking to his agent trying to engineer a deal away then for me that really is the last straw. we stood by him early in his chelsea career, we stood by the allegations of cheating, we stood by him thourgh injurys and ACN, and gave him a chance after his stupid red in the euro final. he comes back from injry this season and gets himself a stupid ban when we need him most then wants to leave. well i say f**k him, get out of my club you arrogant, ignorant childish little prick. good f**king riddance.

I feel the same way but still have the niggling doubt we can get anyone in the window and Anelka and once he is fit Di Santos are not enough to get us through the season with a real chance of silverware,

Imagine an injury to Anelka...we are relying on Kalou as our main striker untill Di Santo gets back and maybe even once he is back.

I wonder if it is true about Drogba's little meeting if Inter and Jose will be in the same trouble as w were when the Ashley Cole tapping up occurred? I can't see any difference.
