Posted December 9, 200816 yr It was awesome to see Belletti back from injury early, and I thought he put in well for the time he was allowed on the pitch. But why were some idiots in the crowd booing him every time he got the ball? I didn't understand that... The atmosphere in the first half was flat enough as it was... without adding to it in the second by booing our own players. ¬___¬
December 9, 200816 yr I think you need to visit the quack to get your ears syringed - they weren't booing him, they were shouting 'shoot' because of his knack of scoring long range goals.
December 9, 200816 yr no booing mate, who do you think we are... arsenal fans.. as loz said theyre shouting shoot.
December 9, 200816 yr Author Ah! That makes sense then. I was confused and annoyed when I heard it...
December 9, 200816 yr Belletti is a work horse.Drop the w**ker Bos and put him or paulo at RB. what on earth are you on about? bosingwas been one of our best players all season.
December 9, 200816 yr what on earth are you on about? bosingwas been one of our best players all season. Only against mediocre/poor teams. I thought he had a shocker tonight as well.
December 9, 200816 yr Only against mediocre/poor teams. I thought he had a shocker tonight as well. he was poor tonight but hes been superb most of this season. to say hes rubbish is simply bollocks.
December 9, 200816 yr I don't think Bosingwa has been rubbish this season but I wouldn't have him in the team against anyone with any quality on the left wing. Ferreira would get the nod from me in games where we could be under pressure.
December 9, 200816 yr what on earth are you on about? bosingwas been one of our best players all season. Can he cross a ball?? he plays well against average teams. He's nowhere bear being a top class Full back. In fact, at times, he looked pretty average. Belletti or Paulo should come in. Edited December 9, 200816 yr by 4EVERCHELSEA
December 9, 200816 yr Can he cross a ball??he plays well against average teams. He's nowhere bear being a top class Full back. erm yes, yes he can cross a ball. hes set up 2 that i can think of straight away. hes scored 2 superb goals and has been very good in the majority of games hes played this season in a position weve struggled in over the last few seasons. considering he was voted as the best right back in the last major international tournament i think he maybe is a top class full back.
December 9, 200816 yr he was poor tonight but hes been superb most of this season. to say hes rubbish is simply bollocks. Where have i said he is rubbish ? I simply said when it has mattered he hasnt performed like he has against Boro, WBA, Pompey etc.... Like Loz says, against top opposition who will get at us i would pick Paulo in a heartbeat. In a heartbeat.

December 9, 200816 yr Bosingwa is top quality. Yes, he may be not as good defensively as he is going forward, but few attacking fullbacks are. Yes,Paulo is probably better when it comes to defending but then again, he rarely, if ever, crosses the midfield line so he never gets caught out of position.

December 9, 200816 yr Bosingwa is top quality. If you don't think so, you must have been watching a different Chelsea play. Not his best game tonight by a long stretch, but to say he is sh*t and does not deserve to be in the team, is, I am sorry, moronic. Also, do you seriously think Belletti is a better option defensively ? Very, very short memory span there if you do. You may prefer to see Ferreira instead of him for the defensive advantage he brings to the team, but that's surely not the way to express it.
December 10, 200816 yr Drop the w**ker Bos and put him or paulo at RB. And Bosingwa isn't a worker? Have you not seen how much running and ground Bos covers over 90 minutes? Of all the ridiculous comments i've seen at times on this forum, this one is right up there with the stupidest of them
December 10, 200816 yr Personally I think Bosinwga is the best signing we had for a couple of years. The only problem for me is he is trying too much at times, instead of putting a quick cross in ( especially if Drogba playing). Of course he get caught out sometime, thats the draw back to have an attacking fullback, but when he is good ( on most occasions), he keeps opposition left wingers in their own half most of the time. Paulo is safe as a house, but when was the last time we saw him getting down the by-line? He's a good option when we try to protect the game, nothing more.
December 10, 200816 yr Actually I've seen him put in the early cross on occasions and also some very accurate crosses. We have given away far few goals from set pieces this season since he's been in the team. The fact that he was heavily marked and had a below par game tonight (injury) really showed up and demonstrated how useful he is most of the time. He is a bit less effective against top class teams, but so is everyone. That's why top class teams are top class.

Everytime he comes on he is really comfortable with the ball and makes good passes and is a serious threat to goalies with his powerful strike.

Shut up!!! oh right, sorry. didnt realise no-one was allowed to have a differing opinion to yours.
December 10, 200816 yr I'm torn on Bosingwa. He can be good going forward but it does seem that he is fairly easily stopped by a well organised defence. Last night he lost the ball consistently to the Cluj fullback, often leaving us very short at the back. The few times he did look effective was when we were able to play him in behind the fullback but we didn't manage that too often. Having said that I think it is important that we have some consistency of selection otherwise we will end up with another Del Horno/Boularouz situation. The idea that we should play Ferreira because he is better defensively is a bit of a laugh. Did no-one watch him try and defend against Keane and Lennon for Spurs over the last two or three years? He was so bad one year that he was subbed off after 25 mins. In any case, the system we play needs Bosingwa otherwise we have no width at all.

Fair enough but he has also kept Giggs and Ronaldo quiet a few times too.
