I reckon he'll play a similar role to McEachran last season, getting a few games here and there. He's certainly a great prospect. This is an article from a little while ago from WeAin'tGotNoHistory (which is a good blog btw)

Might still be too early for him to feature much this season, players will still go past him too easily, but hopefully a big role for the reserves this season will see him pushing for the first team the following year. There's no doubting his talent but he's not there yet.

I just added this fellow on Facebook - I haven't spoken to him personally yet but he comes across as polite and humble while still being up for a joke. Plus he seems like a real talent...

I was really impressed with him against Pompy. Hilario didn't make his life easy with the back header but his recovery was exceptional considering his age. Cool under pressure and he looks like he'll become an absolute destroyer of a CB, like Terry/Carvalho/Ivan etc - always great to have.
Obviously he's too young to be featuring in the first team on any regular basis for a while yet, but it looks like we've got a real academy prospect on our hands.

My son was in the academy at his age group and he's always said he's a class above the rest and has what it takes

What a performance today from Chalobah, totally bossed the midfield against Fulham. Great future.
Piazon and Lalkovich also had great games, unlucky not to win the game as Milan slotted a penalty over in the 87th min.

I want to see Lalkovich playing in the first team soon.

When I first heard about Chalobah he was a defender and some said he was JT's heir. Nowadays he seems to mostly play as a midfielder. Anyone know if that will be his position or if it's just something temporary?

He is a decent player but very typical of a wide player in that there are periods of the game which seem to pass him by. I would like to see him on the bench for the first team as he's the sort of player that could make things happen when thrown on but NEVER let him take a penalty! That was a dreadful pen last night - up there with some of Anelka's.
Really a game of two half's against Fulham. I turned over to watch a bit of the Charlton v Huddersfield match after 30 minutes as we were 2-0 down and playing poorly and it looked like it was going to end up a real hammering. Turned back second half and it was like the teams had swapped. We were all over them and it was only a matter of time before the pressure paid off and once we got it back to 2-2, there only looked to be one winner. Real shame that Lalkovich f**ked up with the penalty but it was apt he and Chalobah were our goal scorers as they were our best two players by far - especially Chalobah. He has the potential to be some player, and still not even 17.

It's a shame about the draw we've gotten in the Carling Cup. Guys like Chalobah and Lalkovic may have made the bench if we had have had an easier draw and perhaps not required the insurance policy on the bench.
