Yes your reasoning behind it is perfect, thats how its going to work.  But like Rahul said with Diarra once here, then Pompy sold him to Real and he's become an awesome holding midfielder - we really missed the mark on that one.  I even think Makelele said Diarra would become his successor and we didn't listen!  I'd hate to see us selling people on who end up becoming exactly what we need just because we're afraid to give them a chance.  Thank God Josh looks to be on his way in.

And that's our situation in a nutshell. We're just not patient enough - it has to be NOW.

Diarra is a bad example to use i`m afraid, he was behind Makalele at the time (the best player in football in his position) and was being eased into the game with some time in the middle and at right back. He wanted to start games at his favourite position, dm, but that simply wasnt gonna happen. He did the same at Arsenal so I think his problem was more his attitude than anything else.

That may be the case but the end result is the same, and it wasn't good for us.  We missed out on a world class DMC and we're left in a position with Mikel not living up to expectations and Essien nowhere near his best.

With regards to Borini, I've watched a few Swansea games and he does look like a natural predator / finisher - although that is in the championship; it would be nice to have him back but as many have said (and he's said) can't see it happening. Will be interesting to see where he goes if Swansea don't get promoted - if they do I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed there given the Rogers and Scotty Sinclair connection.  A nice idea may be to sell him to Swans with a buy black clause in the future :D

I still don't think Diarra was going to be a star here, and I wasn't too impressed with his game when I saw him play for Madrid this season.  He really only plays for them when Khedira is hurt or suspended.  The only thing we did wrong with him is not getting much in the way of a transfer fee.

He's a free agent this summer, isn't he? Don't think he'll re-sign for us, where he'd be about 6th choice, so you can't blame him. He's done his reputation a lot of good in his loan spell, and I've been impressed with him. It's a great shame he'll not have a future here but he will have a good career somewhere.
I'd love it if we could sell him on with a buy back clause, as I would with any of our youth products, but I think we'll get zilch for developing Borini.

Fabio is looking good in the play off final, along with scottie sinclair who has already bagged two goals. We could have done with both of them at certain points during the past season.

He won them a penalty which Sinclair converted to finish off his hattrick. Good day for the lads!

Sounds like our youth players basically carried Swansea to the Prem.

Not to forget Rogers who has done a fabulous job at his short time in Swansea.

Brenda Rogers said Borini had signed a 5 year pre-contract with Parma before joining Swansea on loan

I have thought all along he would end up in Serie A, and I bet that Macheda will leave Manchester for an Italian club in the near future too.  I know it's fairly ignorant, but I just always assume that Spanish kids grew up watching La Liga, Italians watching Serie A, and English watching the EPL, and all have a desire, if it's realistic to furthering their careers, of playing in their respective league.

I think it's quite natural that most kids grow up watching their domestic league and that is the league most of them want to play in. Especially if your country has a strong league.

I think it's probably reasonable to assume that if any of us were good enough to play professionally, we'd rather play at Chelsea than anywhere else - I doubt it's much different for these guys. Parma were Borini's local team growing up. If he had figured that he wasn't going to make it in our first team then it makes sense that he would want to go back and play for them.
