daledotman got a reaction from Night-T in Mauro IcardiAlways said he would be the perfect signing for us after Costa left, one of the best finishers in Europe imo. Huge upgrade on what we currently have.

daledotman reacted to driller97 in Mauro IcardiCosta was an asshole as well, but id happily take him back!
Icardi is just another world class Argentinian forward, we should definitely get him if we have the chance

daledotman reacted to Ewell CFC in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerWhen managers are interviewed on MOTD, the commentator will immediately ask the manager what he thought of the penalty/ sending off, or anything remotely controversial. ( never mind how fantastic the actual game was)
The manager then has to play this little game where he disagrees with the refs decision, regardless of the facts.
Then Lineker will say " Maybe we should start with the penalty...."
The whole coverage has been manufactured to focus on incident/ drama.
They seem obsessed with so called "talking points". It's funny that when I'm on the way home after a game, the talking points amongst my mates tends to be a glorious 60 yards pass, or someone having a nightmare - the game in general rather than how the ref did or some other petty sideshow.
Ive no doubt that television company's sit down with the Premier League and discuss how they want their product to be shown. Maximum drama and controversy have outrumped the football itself. It's alienating a lot of fans IMO

daledotman reacted to Theafonis in Ruben Loftus-CheekHaha some fans still want Barkley over RLC in January, must be FIFA fan boys

daledotman reacted to Slojo in WillianHe's been one of our best players for the last 3 years, I have no idea why he gets so much hate and negativity. I mean don't get me wrong he's had some awful games, the City game this season for example.
But all in all, he's been top notch, look at his record and the points he's won us.
-
daledotman reacted to GarnachoCheese in Matt MiazgaI'd say he was bought purely for commercial links in the USA. Was never going to make it with us.

We arent poorly run but for some reason when we win the league we never strengthen, we either stay the same or get weaker. This is the third time now.

daledotman reacted to Scott Harris in We officially have an incompetent boardThat has got to be some of the worst punditry ever. No facts, just made up bollocks. The worst bit is where he speaks for us Chelsea fans like he has been going around asking for our opinions, he got that opinion from his own head not us Chelsea fans. Most Chelsea fans were happy for Matic to go, but not to United and only if we could bring the players in to replace him.
Add Jenas and Kilbane to that list too. MOTD is terrible every week now because we have to listen to the opinions of these idiots. They may be ex players, but they are sh*t at explaining the game to us. I would rather listen to the opinions of football fans, at least they watch the games properly and aren't making comments based on a few minutes of highlights.

daledotman reacted to strider6004 in We officially have an incompetent boardBefore we revert to a back four, I would say let's see how we go with a duo out of Kante, Baka and Drinkwater first.

Negatives: heavy loss, Conte got it all wrong, criminal amount of wasted chances, our defenders overplayed the whole game for some reason apart from Rudiger who switched off for 2-0.
Positives: Conte can fix it by playing Kante, Roma was not as good as the result seems, we didn't actually need to win.
Lets put the result behind us and concentrate on beating ManU.

Well, just wow. What a flat performance tonight. Did not take one minute to see what kind of match it was going to be. I am not typically a member of the all-negative club as some are, even after wins, but this one tonight. Just oh, dear.
I know anyone that watches us half regularly can see the team seems disjointed 75% of the time. Not sure the cause, though I feel some of the recent matches and especially tonight, Conte may have the XI and tactics all wrong.
As for the players, we can start at the back. Luiz appears to be back to his normal self after a great season last year. The whiff of the midfield ball tonight that allowed a 3 on 2 break was met with a smiling Luiz. He appears only partially into it most nights. Alonso is just getting cut to ribbons at LWB defensively. He is sloooow. Still shows some skill going forward. Cahill just seems to be coming down the back side of his career and does not have the captain presence of JT. Rudiger can look good and bad, see the second goal tonight. I would like to see more of Christensen.
Cesc is still pretty darn good going forward but is like playing a man down in midfield as we have al known for years. Bakayoko is physical but lacks good ball skills and turns the ball over quite a bit. Desperately need Kante back and a chance to get Drinkwater in the mix.
As bad as we have looked at the back at times, I am more miffed at the poor possession we have had the past 4 - 6 weeks and lack of quality going forward as a group. I am not sure this is not on Conte. Playing with just Hazard-Morata up top or even with Pedro in there too, we just seem to struggle. Morata has fallen off the past three-four games. Bumped off the ball easily, cannot get free most of the time and is strugging, though a super nice guy. Are we missing Moses that much going forward. It makes me wonder of the 4-2-3-1 of Jose days would not be better for this year's team, with Kante and Baka/Drinkwater in midfield and Hazard, Willian/Cesc and Pedro behind Morata up top is not a better lineup.
There is time to turn this around, "if" the coach and players are interested. Conte has to find the right mix or Carlo will.
Sorry to be a little negative tonight, but just really disappointed tonight.
Come on you Chelsea!!

-
daledotman reacted to charierre in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerLike the team, Conte made plenty of mistakes last night.Questions need to be asked why he felt the need to change the positions of the defence, why have we persisted with Cesc in a two man midfield and why when chasing the result wasn't Zappacosta brought on at RWB reverting Azpi to his better position instead of moving Pedro there. Square pegs in round holes.

daledotman reacted to TrueBlueBIH in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerLast season he turned a team that ended 10th into Champions, he changed things when they were catastrophic after our back to back defeats against Arsenal and Liverpool. He is smart enough that he knows this isn't working, he has to be given time to change things around again. I don't think that Roman will be that patient but i hope he will be.
-
daledotman reacted to BordeauxBlue in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerIf Manure beat us this weekend Antonio will be under massive pressure.
Don't despair though, because our inept board will never get the sack, no matter how badly they f**k up.

daledotman reacted to Nibs in We officially have an incompetent boardThink we have all learnt and realise that it is a lot harder to repeat success, season after season. Very few teams have been able to win back to back PL titles in recent times and I did think this was going to be a tough season.
But there is no doubt, Conte hasn't been backed as he should. I think our major replacements have been with an eye on the long-term, which I do applaud as I hated our "quick-fix" short sighted signings in the past. Baka for Matic, Morata for Costa and Rudiger / Christensen for JT were all good moves but they will take time to bed in. The worry is just how good some of the new players turn out as Morata and Baka have really struggled of late. I went on record as saying Baka was a definite upgrade on Matic and I hope this proves right but right now and with the game approaching Sunday, that could come back to haunt me.
One thing is certain. We cannot afford to play Fabregas in the midfield two in any crunch games now and Conte is short of options. I won't mind if we give a good account of ourselves in remaining games - expect to win some & lose some. Finish as high as possible in th e PL (hopefully top 4) and have run in the cups, maybe win one. But the complete lack of anything that we witnessed in the second half last night is inexcusable and we cannot have repeats of that.

daledotman reacted to Cyborg7 in Antonio RudigerAgain a massive perfomance from Rudiger vs Bournemouth, i like Cahill and i'm thankful for all what's he had do for Chelsea, but I reckon that Rudiger is stronger

-
daledotman reacted to Jezq8 in Tiémoué BakayokoHe will turn out to be a great player I reckon.
It’s his first season In the league. He didn’t even get to have a pre-season with us,
him and Kante together seem to be the best pairing.
-
daledotman reacted to GarnachoCheese in Tiémoué BakayokoAs is every other midfielder in the league. We're going to be very disappointed if we compare all our signings to Kante.
