  1. When I'm working at home I use http://www.live365.com - excellent range of musical genres. I particularly like Zionradio.com, sensimillia sounds, Blue Icewater Blues, Bandit Blues and theESTROGENzone. I used to listen to "Dark Side of the Radio" a lot but then that became a premium members only station and I'm arsed if I'm going to pay Lofty, BB and Mike might like to check out some of these http://www.AllMotown.com Ultragroove Live The New SUNSET Radio The Motown Show THE RHYTHM & THE BLUES SoulRadioOnline.com Sloppy Joe's Stank Funk and scooter-forums radio Right now I'm listening to Denis Alcapone on Zion Radio Kev

OK - Still thinking - but what most people said up there! Booker T and the MGs played at the last Bishopstock Blues Festival. I was wandering round the record and CD stalls between bands in the afternoon, turned to my left and THERE WERE CROPPER AND DUNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!!!!!!!!!! LOOKING AT CDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I played it Very Very cool. Just gabbled and gabbled about how they were marvellous and wonderful and musical heroes of mine and they made the sound that sort of defined my youth and also the film that changed my view og the Musical and then I asked for a handshake. They are a pair of gentlemen too and both shook my hand!!!!!!!!! Wooohooo! Now I have to go lie down for a while Kev

  7. AND ANOTHER THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The organisation at Reading last night was f**king diabolical. Talk about a piss-up and a brewery. Did anyone else use their w**k park and ride? I got there and parked at about 20 to 7. Joined a queue and waited for a bus. And waited. And waited. And got soaking basted wet. And waited. And then waited some more. Then a bus came. At about 10 past 7. Just the one. For a queue of about 2-300 people. Then it rained some more. Then the first load of people got on the bus and it pissed off. Then I waited some more. And waited again. Then a bus came. Just the one again. I think it was the same one. Then some Reading prat at the front of the queue wanted to pay his ?3 fare with twopenny pieces. Then the bus was full and some muppet with an umbrella walked along the queue (still huge at this point) telling us that there were three buses coming but they were stuck in traffic!. STUCK IN f**kING TRAFFIC? ON A MATCHDAY? TRAFFIC???? Who would have expected that? Eventually, another bus arrived, I got on, very very wet, and off it lumbered. Got to the ground and there were FOUR, count 'em. FOUR turnstiles open for the Chels, with barriers around so that only a few people at a time could get through to them. This was now FIVE PAST KICK-OFF!. So, they have this wonderful automated turnstile system - stick your ticket in, light goes green, gate opens, walk through, enjoy game! Yeah Right! After an hour and a half in the rain, my ticket and loads of other Chelsea tickets were a tad damp. So the ticket reader could't read them. So, you just walk back and approach a friendly steward, right? Except you now have 10 or more people immediately behind you, all missing the game and wanting to get in. Oh there was some jolly banter with the afore-mentioned stewards. You had to go get your ticket checked by some w**ker with a PDA and then join the queue again. There's more! and this bit tickled me. Half-time we all trundle out to the "Bistro" area for Pie and Bovril. It's the usual mad scramble with a long bar with lots of signs hanging down saying "queue here". I decided I couldn't be arsed to wait so I wandered off. Just before the end of half-time I went back out to see if the queue had shortened. There was some guy, standing by a "queue here" sign who had been there in the very same place at the very beginning of half time, hadn't been served and was politely (?) pointing out the sign and his total lack of Bovril-like refreshment. The helpful person behind the counter, obviously having just attended a Customer Care Seminar, and having been told for about the 9th time in fifteen seconds that the sign said "queue farking here" reached up and pulled the sign off the counter and walked away. Oh how we laughed! OR several of the now apoplectic putative customer's friends physically restrained him from leaping the counter and personally introducing the "servant" to the CFC concept of Customer Care! Or something like that anyway! I live in a hamlet of four houses and it's a mile to the nearest street light and two miles to the pub, and even I thought "f**king sh*tkicking Yokels" Kev
  8. OK - So once again I have come to this very late, but, like G4, I was there as well. I am not sure some of you were watching the same game as me. The first half wasn't great, but I thought it was nowhere near as bad as you all seem to think it was. Perhaps the cameras following the ball mean that you don't get to see all of the rest of the stuff happening on the pitch, and, possibly, the streams didn't really show the atrocious conditions. The first half was played in total monsoon conditions and there was NEVER going to be a slick, sexy, fast and skillful match under those circumstances. Reading ran about a lot, got lucky when Big Pete missed a header back across the box, but never looked like anything more than a mid-table bunch of muppets determined to work really hard against the next CHAMPIONS of England! I think I also disagree with some of the player criticisms. Ashley was over the other side of the pitch first half, but the guys around me at half time all thought him and Paulo had not had a bad match so far. We were a bit disappointed with Drogs, thought SWP had been excellent given the conditions and Lamps and Sidwell were very much in control. I did think, however, that Reading had a game plan that involved the keeper always kicking towards Paulo, and for their forwards to double up on him - that caused us a bit of a problem because we, as a team, didn't really seem to recognise it and deal with it very well. (It was weird, because where I was standing, it looked like the baldy f**ker was trying to kick the ball to me!) Anyway, whilst not exstatic about the first half, I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as some of you do, and the second half was superb, even when the Reading arseholes were really pressing Kev PS - I agree totally with G4's comments about the sick chants and booing from the sh*t-kickers directed at Big Pete. Loved a couple of our songs though "Your Just A Small Town Near Swindon" and "We can See You Sneaking Out"
  9. I saw Geoff Hurst in Poundstretcher buying a jumbo tin of dubbin and some string You heard it here first kev
  10. Did I miss something? or is it "Have a go at Frank" Day today? I've had a permanent "Have a go at Frank" day for well over a year now Is that Bexhill Rhyming slang Steve?
  11. Oh whooopeeee Callista - another big chunk of the cheery-uppies! Be chill poppet - like Brian says, the glass is HALF-FULL! Your glass appears to be emptied, put in the dishwasher, rinsed, dried, put away neatly in the pessimistic cupboard and is now slowly gathering spiders! And anyway, Birmingham were not naive, they just played out of their skins and rode their luck. With a bit of good fortune we could have had 6 or 7 kev
  12. OK, drove into work this mornong and stopped off at Terry's (not that one!) Big Breakfast Caravan Lay-By for a couple of bacon rolls and a cuppa. Quick glimpse at his complimentary copy of The S*n, and there, just inside the back page was a beautiful ray of s*nshine Current BarclayCard Premier League standings 1. Everton 2. Don't Know 3. 17. So, I went to the official site on Friday to try to get tickets for the Charity Shield - They aren't available on-line, only to personal callers because of the problems they are having posting tickets out. I thought "f**k It, I'll buy a Reading ticket", so that's what I did. f**king thing turned up in Staurday's post. Excellent service, box office staff! Now WHY can't I get a CS ticket in the same way? Also, I see that they are going on General Sale on Monday. That must mean we haven't sold out! jeeeezus! kev
  18. Rob - where are the CFC sales for the same period then? You appear to be alloting minus figures for all the players you have sold to give you a net spend, adding in the likes of Veron to the CFC buys. Also, where in your list are the likes of heskey, kewell, diao, pennant, crouch, agger, whoever? Or do we want to compare money spent for just this close season? kev
  19. Not buying the league nor nuffink though La?
