raysobi reacted to Nibs in Eden Hazard - Chelsea LegendJesus, I know it's all a matter of opinion but must of those are not fit to lace Eden's boots!
Lewandowski will be 31 this year and looks all of that - hasn't been great for some time. KDB is good but behind Hazard in the pecking order for Belgium and that showed in the WC. Icardi? Over-rated and not well liked. Neymar, too injury prone and lightweight. Sterling is having a great season but still wouldn't have him ahead of Hazard.
Wouldn't swap Hazard with anyone on your second list either. Only two players I would you have missed out and they are Mbappe & Sane.

raysobi reacted to IliyaKrostin in We've got a new KepaDoesn't matter when and why, as a player, you never disrespect Coach's decision.
It doesn't matter who was right there, maybe Kepa was fine, but a situation like this can't happen on this level.
Experienced players should have taken him off by themselves, totally disrespect towards Sarri.

raysobi reacted to EdinburghBlue in Victor MosesHappy for Moses and he seems to really suit the Conte system but...
we have some f**king spoilt fans even on this forum, the abuse hurled towards a manger who won us our first title in 50 years and then won 2 more is absolutely disgraceful.
some of you need to get a grip.
Anyway, back on topic, as I say, I'm delighted for Moses as he seems a solid professional and has never really been given a fair crack with us.
He's getting it now and is certainly making the most of the opportunity.

raysobi reacted to lchk in Victor MosesWell done Victor Moses! He's taken his first team chances very well and here's wishing he will cement himself in that right wing-back role. The bonus is also keeping Ivanovic out of the first team altogether.

raysobi reacted to Scott Harris in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaHe was brilliant today, he deserves to be celebrating a win, and he would have if we had a ref who could do his job properly. How many times did Amat foul Costa ? must have been 3, and this was after already being on a yellow card.

raysobi reacted to Chelsea_Chauncey in David Luiz back at ChelseaWe desperately need personality and leaders in the team. He s the type of player that brings a team closer with his personality.
I know he s prone to the odd heads gone moment but he s also capable of some proper magic.
Tbh he was a personal favourite of mine along with Ivanovic and Davey A.

-
raysobi reacted to Scott Harris in Eden Hazard - Chelsea LegendHim slowing the game down on the wings is the thing holding him back from being one of the very best. Surely the coaches he has played under have advised him to stop doing this and just run at players. He seem's worried about losing the ball. I would rather he lose the ball every so often than watch him stop, slow the game down and then pass the ball back 5 yards. He would beat his full back's a lot more than he would lose it if he just kept at it. Even players who are nowhere near his level seem to take players on more than him.
It's such a shame that this has become such a big part of his game, it's the biggest reason why he isn't one of the very best right now.

raysobi reacted to Hazard10 in Eden Hazard - Chelsea LegendI think that has more to do with the lack of quality in the squad rather then Hazard. We haven't exactly been surrounding Hazard with lots of other worldclass talent now have we ?
Oscar and Willian work hard but they aren't really top players.
His first 2 seasons here we played with Torres as the main striker while having Ramires and Lampard in midfield.
Then there's our defence which has been/still is a bit of an anchor that, whenever we play good teams, forces us to defend deep and play on the counter because Ivanovic, Terry and even Cahill just don't have enough pace to play a high line and they simply aren't able to handle 1 vs 1 situations with pacey attackers and space in behind them.
That puts a lot of distance between Hazard and the oppositions goal while also not giving him much support to work with when he does reach the oppositions half.
No coincidence that he ended up playing his best season for us when Costa and Fabregas were added to the squad and we ended up winning the PL.
Now we just need to overhaul our defence and shore up our midfield which according to the rumours seems to be what we're looking to do.

raysobi reacted to ShedEnder91 in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerHad Pirlo's book sitting on a shelf for a while so this provides impetus to finally read it.
Conte is about as exciting a prospect as I can imagine for this club right now. Let's be honest, it's hard to muster much enthusiasm when these appointments can feel slightly temporary and there's precedent for people not called Jose to have rather short shelf-lives.
But he does tick a lot of boxes. He's rebuilt great clubs before, he's got a style that suits our Kings Rd image, he speaks the language, he can play exciting football but he also plays with intensity and that's something I think we all look back fondly on. The names being thrown around like Nainngolen and Vidal harken back to the days of Essien when we'd overpower teams in the middle and then dance on their lifeless bodies.
I know people get bored of formation-talk but that's where part of the excitement is for me. We aren't a great team but we have some great players and they might excel in his team. Courtois, Costa, Fabregas and Hazard are the most irreplaceable players we have and if he does go with either a 352 or even a revised 433 then they can be huge for us. If Conte works to his players strengths then these will be the ones he builds around.
I know that some players have spoken of how relaxed they feel under Guus but I don't think that's where we should be as a club. We should be pushing ourselves every day to be better and everything I've read and heard about Conte suggests that he is a man obsessed with that. I think that's what we want in a coach.
We just need to hope that the club allows him to succeed and that means giving him freedom and backing him.

And don't forget the emotional part, Barry.
So.
What went wrong?
From hero to zero.
Indeed. No single piece of evidence. After such a beautiful year. I don't get it.
Must be something terrible.
-
raysobi reacted to Barry Bridges in Eden Hazard - Chelsea LegendPeople want this club run like a business.... guess what businesses do to assets that are over valued and under performing?
He is currently under contract with Chelsea but I struggle to call him a Chelsea player after the season he has put up, especially compared to some of our former CFC players who did far more with a fraction of the talent and often carrying injuries.
And of course I would be 100% up for backing Hazard so he can put out the performances he did last season..... I just dont see a single piece of evidence that suggests that will happen. I see a player simply not trying to reach those levels, not a player trying and just not finding it like Ivan did earlier this season. It's feel like I am watching a lack luster version of the CFC-Torres.
