All Barco no bite

It helps when a team has a long term manager and the team buy into his tactics. They had Klopp for 7 or 8 years and bonded with him and the team. Now they know they have Tuchel for the foreseeable future. Sadly we chop and change managers so often the players don't really have time to learn what the manager expects from them. Mourinho wanted the team to sit back, Ancelotti wanted them to be expansive and attack etc. it can't be easy for the players. Hopefully we make a proper investment into a coach that will stay with us in the long run in the summer and let him build the team he wants and apply the exact style of football he wants.

Am i the only one that thinks he seems depressed? He's been sh*t all season and I don't want to defend him but i've lived with someone with serious depression for the last 3 years and it seems very similar. No energy, almost wanting to hide away, and having thousands of fans booing you can do this thing to you. Obviously i'm not having a dig at the fans because they have very right to let the players know when they're not happy but to me it seems like there are underlying issues. Much like when he should've had the penalty but just let Oscar take it (and miss..), he didn't put up any fight. A few ill-advised comments and the shirt swap just seem like mistakes to me. He has no agent, so no one to tell him what to say in interviews. Shirt swaps at half time in France are common. If player came up to him and asked for his shirt i bet he just thought 'yeah okay'. Seemed to regret it afterwards the way he picked up the pace and ran down the tunnel like he knew he'd done something wrong. A player to dip this much in form and for their behaviour to change just seems a little strange to me.

Below top team talent? Xhaka at Monchengladbach (probably just butchered that spelling) looks class. Could get Christensen to whisper sweet nothings in his ear and persuade him into coming.

I don't think the club is in as much trouble as every thinks. Look at the points taken from after Christmas and we're right up there at the top. The reason we are where we are is because Mourinho thought it a good idea to piss off as many people as possible. With a new manager coming in that'll actually play the attacking football that our players deserve and a few tweeks to the current selection of players i see no reason why we wouldn't be favourites for the season ahead.

If it comes down to that, i hope we play our U18's and let Leicester have the title. Anyone but Arsenal, please!

Makalele was a holding mid, probably also one of the best midfielders we've ever had. Vital to a team, someone who will sacrifice joining the attack to defend. Like Busquets does for Barca. Juve's midfield worked because they were the dominant team in Italy and teams sat back against them, kind of like Bayern at the minute. Not disputing Vidal's defensive ability but when he's up attacking and we get caught on the break we need the holding mid there waiting to snatch up and play.

Lets now look at Baba's defensive display against PSG that was world class. Kenedy can not defend, Baba can.

Wow. Just imagine Di Maria or Lucas running at Kennedy at left back. Just because he scored one goal playing there once people really need to stop thinking he should be chose to play there more often. Can't defend for s**t and has zero positional awareness sadly.

Traore seems to be doing the job at 2nd strikers atm. I think its more a 3rd striker we need. Someone that doesn't mind sitting on the bench for 25 games a season.

For me: Tibo Azpi Cahill Ivan Baba Mikel RLC Willian Fab Hazard Traore I want to see Costa rested before PSG because knowing Chelsea's luck this season he'll probably do his ACL or something. Whether he be replaced by Traore/Pato/Remy i'm not too fussy but i've chosen Traore because of his performances in recent weeks. Baba back in at LB. Kenedy was great getting forward last game but showed he isn't much of a defender. With Shaqiri down that wing we're gonna need someone that knows how to get a foot in. RLC in the middle with Mikel, but this coud also be Matic. Just adds a bit of a back bone in the middle against a team that can be dangerous on the attack if they show up.

Traore for me. Would've liked to choose Kenedy and probably would've done if he was started on the wing but he was playing LB and his defending was mediocre. Not moaning at the lad because he ain't a defender but that side was too easy for Redmond all night.

Just to let you know, he is Chilean and not Italian. But i agree with the point that we'll be linked to a lot of Italians now.

Feel bad for Baba, you could see he was distraught after that goal. Got to keep him in the team though, its the only way these young players will learn.

I wasn't aspiring to be like Watford. More making the point of if the formation can help a team like Watford reach the top end of the table imagine what it could do for a team that should already be at the top.
