GYBLUE reacted to 19seventyone in Armando BrojaGive the guy a break FFS. He’s literally just back from a long term injury.

I agree completely. A lot on here wouldn’t have been born the last time we went down so have no idea, or get the sense, of what a relegation season feels like. To avoid it you need experienced leaders who would get stuck in on which we have none. I’m fully expecting Burnley to turn us over for their first win of the season. You need goals to win matches and where we have precisely no natural finishers, anywhere in the squad, when your best chance of scoring is with Stirling who is a 1 goal in 6 chances player, you know you’re in trouble…..
Thats not me being negative, that’s just the reality from someone who has seen it, and been there, all before….

Not sure it requires much inside knowledge, i think you could have asked anyone to name 100 top young players this time last season and even if you didn't get get 100 names off all of em you definitely wouldn't have gotten Jackson, Mudryk, Madueke or any of the other bums we've signed.
For me a young player is under 25
Top under 25 players I'd have expected to have been linked with if we're spending a billion are players like Leao, Wirtz, Gavi, Pedri, Musiala, Napoli winger who's name I can't spell with a K, Oshenheim, Martinelli, Saliba, Camavinga, Saka, Haaland, Mbappe, Vinicus, Rodrygo, Tonali, Bellingham, Tchoumeni, Lautoro Martinez, Valerde, Bastoni, Ousmane Dembele, Muani, Vlahovic etc
Quality young players that have performed at the highest level and have sky high ceilings.
Could probably Google twice as many and think oh yeah. Him
They're top young players and yeah they're not all obtainable and most are already at top clubs but if you say we're spending a billion on young talents I expect some top young talents even if we have to pay through the nose.
Not us signing a guy who was considered one of the worst players in La Liga last season till the last month, a guy with a handful of goals in 4 years in Ukranine and a injury prone guy that was struggling in a average Dutch league team.
We spent top young talent money and got a bunch of prospects that would be squad players at Bournmouth.

GYBLUE reacted to axman2526 in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCAlways good to see you about EB. As you have written, as I feel.
Been lucky to have had 2 owners that had true passion for Chelsea in my lifetime supporting us. Now this lot have come in, ripped it up and I just dont feel any connection to the club anymore.
Just apathy for something I used to love almost more than anything else.

GYBLUE reacted to reparto corse in BlueCo buy Chelsea FCNo one with half a functioning brain can still have faith in Eggboehly and Clearlake. It`s painfully obvious. It scares me that there are still people around who have faith in the new "owners". Shows you how delusional humans can get.

GYBLUE reacted to EdinburghBlue in Andreas ChristensenHe deserves an absolutely incredible amount of praise for his performance tonight. I feared the worst when Thiago went down as he is such an experienced and calming player in the back line.
Coming off the bench and getting up to speed quickly is hard any game and any position, but the central defender in our three is so key and for him to come in and stroll the game as he did, after being out for 3 weeks - putting his body on the line blocking shots was incredible.
Elite performance from Andreas & deserves all the plaudits in the world tonight.

Kante should come on for Pulisic or Ziyech, then Mount can move further forward. Then bring on Werner for Havertz and maybe CHO for James. We need changes now. I hope TT won't wait until it's too late.

One thing is for sure; this has spoiled what was shaping up to be an exciting end to our season.

GYBLUE got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Chelsea breakaway from breakaway European Super LeagueLooking forward to hear the interviews tonight after hearing Bamford and Milner last night. I reckon it just needs one team to walk away and the whole thing will fall through. Apparently us and Man City was touch and go anyway

I hope and pray that Chelsea are the first club to say "we got this wrong, completely underestimated the strength of our fans feeling and apologise unreservedly". Do I think that this will happen? not a f**king chance. As Just pointed out, if we honestly believe that Roman gives a toss about Chelsea fans, we are sadly misguided. This Club is an investment, albeit an exciting one for him, but an investment never the less, which he was offered the right money for, he would sell in less than a heartbeat.
I have NEVER felt so alienated by our club, I have supported them through the highs and lows, thick and thin for 52 years but honestly would consider following a non-league or lower league club rather than put a single penny into what should soon be a very full pot. I am staunch Chelsea, but I also love football, especially the romance of small clubs making it big, non League players making the big time, and almost extinct clubs surviving and judging by my family and mates (all of an age) we all feel the same.
I had expected this type of set up at some point, but not the unilateral animosity at every level of football that we are seeing. Chelsea always seem to self destruct, or shoot themselves in the foot, when things are going really well. Here we go again !! I don't use the word lightly, but I pray that it's not too late to reverse this shockingly bad decision.

Should be absolutely buzzing for this game tonight , representing as it does a huge opportunity for us to climb to 3rd spot above Leicester, and yet I find myself totally apathetic, and indifferent.
I've never felt less interested in following Chelsea, which is hugely depressing in itself ...

GYBLUE reacted to just in Chelsea breakaway from breakaway European Super LeagueIndeed Gol. I'm not naieve enough to think for a moment that the clubs involved are motivated by anything other than money and self-interest, as are UEFA, FIFA, EPL etc. But which is the lesser of the two evils?
Similarly I have never been naieve enough to believe that Roman Abramovich has ever, at any point, given two f*cks about what Chelsea fans want. I'm sure he cares about the club as he does any other major financial investment he makes . But he sees it not as our club. He sees it as his club brought and paid for to do with as he sees fit. Whatever PR and media spin he puts out to try and portray otherwise.
I agree with others who have already voiced the same opinion. The golden age of football for me was before global brand rights, obscene TV revenues, mega sponsorship deals, super-agents, billionaire owners and some players earning £500k a week. But that's how the world works my friend. Nothing stays the same, and the only thing you can be sure of is CHANGE.
For better, or worse.

It's interesting that the German and French teams have shunned this Super League. Good for them!
What won't be interesting is Bayern winning the Champions League for the next ten years in a row. This is really going to mess up professional football in the worst way, I woudn't be surprised if all of the teams involved are banished from their various leagues.
I wonder which broadcaster will be the first one to do the dirty and show it live? Please don't support it and don't give them a subscription.

GYBLUE reacted to Jezz in Chelsea breakaway from breakaway European Super LeagueWe can all agree FIFA and UEFA are reprehensible organisations, and still think the concept of a Super League is horrible.
The ripple effect this will have on the sport is frightening.

The death of football. VAR is slowly killing the game but the announcement of this ESL is the double-tap to the head.
I’m done.

I think the point he’s making is that in any other walk of life, if you have an unsustainable business model and your business goes bust. You can’t then point at your competitors and say “well they didn’t give me a slice of their income so I didn’t have the money to survive”. It’s because of people’s emotional investment in clubs as opposed to an Apple or Microsoft type of business.
Of course, as you say - very hard to interchange with football. Mainly because since the introduction of Sky and huge money in to the game, clubs have been able to survive with poor & unsustainable business models because of the money generated by the TV revenue.
