Well if we get a cracking 5 or so years out of him and then sell him to Madrid for £80million, I'd say it was a successful investment. Players like Neymar come with baggage, but they're regularly worth the risk. I just hope we take it.

I don't think Lamps should be first on the team sheet along side Cech, Terry and Ash next year. He's getting on, this season showed he's not able to keep up that well anymore. He still pitches in with his goals, but he's always a bit behind the play. I see Modric as Lamps' long term replacement, except with much more of a creative style of play.

Backfired on you two didn't it :P I'm not entirely sure on the actual line-up though. I'd quite like us to be 4-2-3-1, but maybe with Sneijder in the middle, and a new winger (Turan? Neymar?) on the right and Lamps on the bench.

Only being a youngster, I don't remember that goal at the time at all. But my Dad has the 98/99 season review, and I used to watch that review all the time. When I first saw it (maybe when I was around 9) I kept rewinding the vcr and I watched that goal over and over again. Such an unbelievable strike. And against Spuds aswell.

It sounds even better than I'd hoped it would be. I can't wait.

Agreed. I'm not saying we should just copy Bolton's mantra, but Sturridge flourished up front with Elmander and Davies. What I liked about it too was that none of them were in specific positions. They ghosted around, especially Sturridge, and his pace meant he was nigh on impossible to defend against. That's where I think he'd flourish. Or, in a 4-4-2, playing just off Torres, floating in the whole sprinting everywhere. I hope he gets used so much more next year.

This. I really don't think we need a major overhaul like everyone seems to think. Two or three players is EXACTLY what is needed. As long as one of whom is a creative midfielder (preferably Modric) who is seen as a replacement for Frank, I'll be a happy camper.

Agreed, I often found myself skipping those paragraphs where he described suits etc., I can understand that they're meant to convey his total obsession with materialism, but they just became irrelevant after the first 100 or so pages.

Watched two films yesterday. American Psycho. Decent film, but the book is FAR better, explained much better. The Joneses. Bit of a romcom, but it had a bit of an edge to it which I really liked. A story of Keeping up with the Joneses that is slightly creepy to begin with and the turn of events near the end is just horrible. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Did you see the Kinect control for the new Ghost Recon? Looks absolutely incredible. One thing they showed was the way you can customise your gun with a flick of your hands, almost picking things out of it. Amazing.

Just watching that video reminded me how surreal it was to have Shevchenko, one of the all time great strikers, was playing for Chelsea. Kind of similar to Torres at the moment. Let's hope the latter doesn't end up like the former!

I have complete faith that the backroom staff at Chelsea are working tirelessly in securing our next manager and have a plan for future players to sign. No moves should be made until whoever our manager is is sorted, so the plan can run by him. We've been guilty of just giving a manager a squad to work with rather than let him mould one. I believe if we get Guus, Roman will have complete faith in him to sign the players he wants and sign the players we need. Give it time.
