Preoden reacted to DarkMata in Next Manager (post Poch)While I think most of us agree the planning seems to be very haphazard however I don’t know where the idea Enzo isn’t suited to possession football has come from. I think he’s perfectly suited to this, he’s not exactly an explosive box to box player, he loves to be on the ball dictating play no less so than a Rice or Kovacic.
As for Mudryk and Jackson yes probably not the best fit, but is Haaland, Doku and Martinelli? Think you need alternate options Mahrez being the perfect example. A team of Bernado Silvia’s may keep the ball for eternity but who’s unlocking defences or scoring the goals?
With the goalkeeper I honestly believe that all of the signings have been either temporary (Sanchez) or youth/future potential signings. None have ever felt like a long term option in the way some of the other positions look. Always seems to be last on the list after blowing millions on kids that will never play for us.

We really weren't at it were we?
I honestly don't know how it gets fixed, im at a complete loss. Easy answer is Poch out and start again, but we're running out of time a bit. Plus, who out there is better an would take the job?
Last night exposed our frailties and what happens when a good side takes their chances against us. We've been in big games this season and been unlucky in big games this season. But we have also been very lucky in big games this season where the opposition have missed a bucket load of chances. I seem to remeber Haaland having a torrid time.
The problem is, we need an absolute clearout and reshuffle in the summer but the last thing we need is a clearout and reshuffle. We can't carry on with the levels of overhaul we have experienced under the new owners but there are so many awful signings that I can't see how it stops.
Might just do a rewatch of the Roman Era every matchday now instead of watching this mess, will keep me going for a couple of decades. Maybe we'll be good again then.

When Enzo plays, we lose. It’s what happens.

Preoden reacted to Richard P in Aston Villa vs Chelsea (FA CUP Replay) Wed 7th February 2024 20:00 GMTWashington must of been sh*t on the bench Sunday, he’s been dropped!

Been biting my tongue this half and surprised the TV is still intact. While the ref isn't giving us anything, Wolves look hungrier all over the park. This team is so disjointed at the moment you ever wonder when we are going to play as a 'team' and not 11 individuals. The midfield is a sh*t show and the back four are not far above that and Wolves taking the lead...they are certainly worse than I've seen in years. Once any team get beyond the midfield and onto our back four they score. I've no idea of Enzo's role, one minute he's pressing their goal keeper with the forwards behind him...WTF is that..next he's on the wing leaving Caicedo to do everything else as Connor is running all over the park going nowhere achieving nothing....a complete and utter disaster of a team at the moment.

Preoden reacted to Sconnie Blue in Chelsea v The Ravenous Wolves (PL) Sun 4th February 2024 14:00 GMTWould’ve played Carney and Jackson for Gallagher and Sterling but no complaints.

Preoden reacted to timetowaste in Chelsea v The Ravenous Wolves (PL) Sun 4th February 2024 14:00 GMTHappy with the team for the most part although I would play Carney and Mudryk over Gallagher and Sterling. Either way this team should be good enough.

To be honest ... most of the players we sign I have never even heard about. Pretty sure he has a point.
-
I've read a few of your posts and i honestly can't tell if you're actually that much of an idiot or if you're some strange Bohely supporting parody account.
But just incase it is the former you really should be aware there are very very few things that can't be financed in football with one billion pounds. Signing a few proven quality players definitely isn't one of them.
Even most clubs in the Saudi league have better players than us and it didn't cost them billions.
-
To be honest I'm drained mentally but the only thing I want to say is what a joy it would be if I can get Boehly tied up Kunta style and whip him on his bare bottom 100 times.
Ah I can only wish.
To think I once laughed at United and Arsenal's Americans.
-
Not sure it requires much inside knowledge, i think you could have asked anyone to name 100 top young players this time last season and even if you didn't get get 100 names off all of em you definitely wouldn't have gotten Jackson, Mudryk, Madueke or any of the other bums we've signed.
For me a young player is under 25
Top under 25 players I'd have expected to have been linked with if we're spending a billion are players like Leao, Wirtz, Gavi, Pedri, Musiala, Napoli winger who's name I can't spell with a K, Oshenheim, Martinelli, Saliba, Camavinga, Saka, Haaland, Mbappe, Vinicus, Rodrygo, Tonali, Bellingham, Tchoumeni, Lautoro Martinez, Valerde, Bastoni, Ousmane Dembele, Muani, Vlahovic etc
Quality young players that have performed at the highest level and have sky high ceilings.
Could probably Google twice as many and think oh yeah. Him
They're top young players and yeah they're not all obtainable and most are already at top clubs but if you say we're spending a billion on young talents I expect some top young talents even if we have to pay through the nose.
Not us signing a guy who was considered one of the worst players in La Liga last season till the last month, a guy with a handful of goals in 4 years in Ukranine and a injury prone guy that was struggling in a average Dutch league team.
We spent top young talent money and got a bunch of prospects that would be squad players at Bournmouth.

That Sterling 1-on-1 summed him up as a footballer. Either tap it to the side for a open goal for Jackson, or you know, just score, like most international attackers would when through on goal. But no. Every time we are through on goal, my heart rate doesn't even go up a single beat, because I know every time we're not scoring.
-
We were the better side before the red.
Don't agree with that call, but the ref was looking to dish out cards to us whenever possible.
Sterling, Jackson and Enzo each had one really excellent chance that they each blew, and that cost us. As did Pochettinos tactical changed after the sub.
I stopped watching after the red card and change. You need mudryk as an outlet but he left on Sterling and Jackson on who were incompetent in front of goal.
-
I've seen enough in this first rounds to understand we are a lost cause. Biggest laughing stock in European football by a country mile.
And Raheem Sterling is the icing on the cake. He is simply a stupid footballer. Plain dumb. Minutes before the red card, if Sterling would have half a brain he would pass it to Jackson and we would be one nil up as we was not offside and that goal would have stood.
Everything is wrong and Pochettino is as clever as Sterling. His team selection is a complete joke. If your average fan can see that Thiago Silva is past it, Colwill is not a left back, Gallagher and Sterling are incredibly poor footballers and Enzo Fernandez is not a no. 10, but a holding midfielder, then what can this say about Pochettino? He is as clueless as our last two managers and.
Three matches in a row that we did not even score against Forrest, Bournemouth and Villa, two of which were at home. Both laughable and sad at the same time. We are a bigger laughing stock than Manchester United.
Everything is supposed to be great at the club and all set for the supposed project to kickstart, but the players look like they've met eachother 2 minutes before the kickoff everytime I watch Chelsea play.

It was clear in the summer the result of our strategy. It's going to end the same way it did when the last 7500 clubs tried it though they all spent much less money and generally did it because they couldn't afford actual quality.
When you only buy young players you will always have a bad team because young players are inconsistent and so few develop into quality.
The few that develop into quality will push their way out to big and serious clubs with competitive teams because they won't want to continue struggling with the young players that haven't made it.
The Delusion that clubs can buy a whole squad of young players and develop them into a competitive squad is absolutely hilarious. It hurts because we got stuck with the morons who actually did it but it's still hilarious someone tried it.
-
Think if we hadn't gone down to 10 men, we would have got the 0-0 we deserved!
-
I don't see anything wrong with what he said. If any of these young players step up to a high level, most obvious ones being Enzo and Colwill, why would they stick around in a team that could potentially get relegated this season? We won't get top 4 this season, that's for sure, and if we do survive, why would we make it next season? These players won't want to wait around, they will be putting in transfer requests. Football careers are short, they will want to be playing Champions League football by the end of next season. If they're not, then they will ask to leave.
-
Whoever is in charge of recruitment needs sacking right now, 1billion spent and we are as bad as we’ve been in the last 30 odd years
-
James, Badiashile, Lavia, Chukwuemeka and Nkunku will help turn our season round when they are back from injury.
I think we've played OK today. We just need to be patient. It will come ...
Even with that lot all missing, we've more of less matched Villa today, and Villa are 3rd behind City and Arsenal in the last calendar year.
-
Poch himself said he had no say in recruitment.
He asked for experienced quality and then later said he didn't know of any of the kids we signed and that he wasn't asked or involved in signing Palmer.
It's not about this season, very few of the rubbish young players we've signed have the talent to ever play for a top half club they're complete deadwood that would have never been signed if we didn't have an owner thinking he could play football manager
-
Still not sure what gallagher's role is on the team. We should have a number 10 playing in front of enzo and caicedo. Maybe we shouldn't have been so quick to not resign Joao Felix.
-
6th game and already depresed. relegation battle here we come. it’ll be a painfull ride
-
Does anyone agree with Pochettino and Disasi after the game when they said we deserved to win?
Why? Cause Gallagher missed 2 sitters, Jackson hit the post, Sterling the bar and Colwill was not professional enough to stay onside for the tap in?
That is on us. Our keeper was man of the match, so how exactly did that display merit a win. A draw was a fair result.
