Chappie goes Dutch
He's their second choice goalkeeper right now, so he is just spending his time warming the bench... his chance will come, though.

Will Rooney leave Man Utd?
After being at death's door with flu, I've finally caught up with this sh*t. There's an interesting article by Martin Samuel where he basically says that Chelsea are his best option, because there's a greater chance of anonymity in London than there is in Manchester. It cites examples like Sol Campbell blending in, and not being hounded after his move, and how Wenger, and many others have achieved anonymity there. That makes sense to me, if what Rooney is seeking is just escapism. It also makes sense, if he wants to leave because the lack of investment at Man U has put doubt in his mind about their title challenge. We're probably favourites for the title right now, but of course things clearly aren't that simple (although Rooney is quite simple), and we won't just walk away with it. It doesn't make sense though, if what he wants is money. Our recent remit has been to reduce the budget, selling Ballack, Deco, Belletti and letting Cole go, mainly to enforce that. So how could we afford to sign Rooney? Even more so, where would he fit in? We have Drogba up top right now, and yeah, he's probably only got a season or two left at the top, but is Rooney going to be happy being rotated for that season or two? Will Drogba? Really, I just don't see him fitting in, and I don't think he'd work out wide, although he has done it before... Man City can throw pretty much any wage he could dream of at him. If that's what he wants, then Man City is probably where he'll end up. He'll probably have more assurances about investment there, too. However they haven't proven a legitimate title challenge, yet. Perhaps by January they will have done, but perhaps not. I think that might be the main stumbling block for him going to City. He'll clearly have a system built around him and Tevez, and signing him will definitely give them a legitimacy in terms of attracting the big names, if they don't already have that. I have a feeling the Man City board may desperately want to sign him for that very reason, so crazy money will probably be mentioned. The other likely place is Real Madrid, and they've got the money to make a competitive offer... even if they have to take out a government loan for it. He's probably a bit of a Mourinho type player, too. He works hard, or at least used to when he actually gave a sh*t. Teaming up with Ronaldo again, might also be something he'd like, but at Real, will he be able to learn the language? Will Colleen (assuming they're still together), want to go to Spain? What will the f**king team look like? Rooney and Higuain up front, Ronaldo on the right, Di Maria left? Kaka playing central in that would leave them weak defensively which Mourinho wouldn't stand for, so would he have to play up front on his own? Higuain surely wouldn't stand for that sh*t. I don't reckon he'll go to Spain, though. Something about him just says that he just wouldn't be able to get to grips with the change in culture. I don't think he'll come to Chelsea, because I don't think he'd be too happy about playing on the right hand side until Drogba retires. Man City are probably the most likely place for him, even though it will probably destroy him personally. Can you imagine him being able to leave his house after that move?

Spartak Moscow v Chelsea (CL) 19/10/2010 KO 17:30 BST
Carlo Said this after the game: Even with a fit Alex, I think Ivan and Ferreira may have done enough to keep their places though... Studge might get in ahead of Anelka though, but if he doesn't perform he may well have to wait a while for another chance because some of his performances haven't really shown that he's interested.

I don't think Josh will start, even if Essien is being rested. Isn't Kalou supposed to be back? Cech Ferreira - Ivan - Terry - Cole Mikel Ramires - Malouda Kalou--------------------------------Zhirkov Anelka Is probably most likely. I think resting Essien is about right, he didn't seem his usual self on Saturday.

Gael Kakuta in 1st Team
I was under the impression that what was said in match chat, stayed in match chat? I don't think Kakuta was particularly bad. The problem is that he was up against a well drilled defence, all closing down quickly and closing down well. He had a couple of good touches, and although the final ball wasn't good, he showed promise. The thing is, a lot of players would have struggled... especially those on the lightweight side, as Kakuta definitely is.

FIFA 11
It was when things moved over to the now current generation of consoles. PES didn't change the game engine enough, and FIFA redesigned it from scratch, and PES have been playing catch up ever since. Gem, on the penalties, try aiming after pressing shoot, you won't get it right in the corner, but it gets it enough to one side for it to get in... unless the keeper is diving that way.

Could it be 55m Euros instead of pounds? That's easily lost in translation.

Laptop purchasing
Well, what are you planning on doing with your old laptop? You see you can take the hard drive out of it and use it as an external one. Usually just takes two screws or so to take out a hard drive, although that will depend on the model and stuff, then you stick it into the caddy. Something like this, but of course on an American site. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-041-BT&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=72 That can usually save you a bit of money, which is never a bad thing... unless you're looking at selling it that is. There are other options of course, because you may not like having to get your external hard drive out every time you want to listen to music and might just want it straight on your computer, you can do that with just an ethernet cable. Link them together, make sure both computers are listed as the same work group and a different computer name, you can change it by right clicking on My Computer. After that, select the files you want to send across and right click on them and select 'Share' or something similar. Connect them together with the ethernet cable. Then look at the Network bit on the new laptop, might be Network Places or something similar and should see the other computer, click on it and you should see the files you selected to share, then just copy them to somewhere appropriate on your new computer and wait while it does it's work... yes, it will take a good while. I may have missed a step or two out as it's all from memory, but that's about right. You may have to disable the firewall temporarily to get the computers to see each other, but remember to turn them back on. Those are the easiest and most boring options, which I'd advise if you're not too confident with computers and the like, but if you fancy doing something more challenging. You could put it in some form of NAS system. Either a pre-built one like this for which you'd need a 2.5" to 3.5" drive converter: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-066-BT&groupid=1657&catid=1659&subcat=1239 Or buy an old second hand computer (probably for less than that), and run it as a file server, but it would take up more space and probably be less energy efficient. The point of doing that with your old hard drive is that you can access it on your laptop wirelessly through your router. If you have a PS3 or X box you can access your music on that too, so you can watch your films on a big screen TV (although that is more difficult on a Linux file server). It's expandable if you want to store more, and really... it's more of a fun challenge to set up. :P

Frank Arnesen - The Kids are alright
I agree wholeheartedly with that. The future is looking very bright, the only way it would possibly look better is if we were able to expand Stamford Bridge somehow. Unfortunately not an option it seems with just the one road, and needing to be able to evacuate the ground in five minutes, but everything else is just about spot on right now. Hopefully we'll see more Joshs, Brumas, Kakutas and Chalobahs come through in the coming seasons, even if we have to sell some, it's an excellent way to continue as a business.

In my view after a quick search, this one would be a good choice for you. http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Grade_A1_-_Acer_Aspire_8530G_laptop__A1-LX.P7202.001/version.asp It's refurbished, but it has everything you could possibly need and a bit more. It can play Blu Rays has a reasonably big HD screen and is quite quick. If you'd prefer something brand new though, this would fit the bill. http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Samsung_R530-JA0CUK_Windows_7_Laptop_NP-R530-JA0CUK/version.asp It's not too much worse, just a smaller and lower definition screen, and doesn't play blu rays, which probably won't affect you anyway. The person above mentioned Dell and personally I'm not a fan, however if you're likely to need tech support, they might be a good option for you. Although they do charge separately for it. I'd suggest this one as being perfect. http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/deals1?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&~ck=mn The one with the Pentium T4500 processor that is, at £429. It's as fast as the others, and has a decent screen, so your youtube videos will look decent. Watch out on the extras though, that's where they push up the price on you. Those are just some ideas for you, of course it's your money and your decision, so make sure you look around yourself to see if there are any which just scream at you. My advice though is to make sure that it's not a Celeron processor, or god forbid an Atom. They're a bit pants these days, look for an AMD (Athlon or X2, if you're unsure as to which it is, google it) or a Pentium (one with a T in front of a number or an i3, i5 or i7 [not that you'd get one at that price]). 3GB Ram is a general rule, but really you can get away with less for what you'll use it for. The hard drive you can effectively ignore unless you're downloading lots of music, films and things... Try not to get Vista, but again it probably wouldn't affect you. Any other questions, feel free.

Perroncel apology
Make the apology take up the same space and positioning as the original story. Then it's not up to a judge to decide whether it was high profile or not. If it was front page news, the apology must be there too.

I was on about Mikel... I didn't realise the conversation had gone back to Malouda, after Killbill's weirdness.

Liverpool
A step up from stealing hubcaps I suppose....

Florrrrent Malooouuuda
Mikel, sorry if that wasn't clear. It was a riposte to that Killbill guy who thinks that Mikel is the worst player ever, and didn't turn up against Arsenal....
-
Florrrrent Malooouuuda
He made as many interceptions as Song, Squillaci and Wilshere put together. He made as many clearances as Alex and Terry did, except with Mikel's only one was unsuccessful (didn't go to a team mate), and all of Alex's were, and Terry made just one successful clearance. He made 39 Successful passes, with 4 unsuccessful. Terry was the only starter to better that on our team, Diaby Squillaci, Wilshere and Song bettered it for Arsenal... that was it. He only lost a single tackle, only Cole, Terry and Essien could beat that. So tell me... what else was he supposed to do? Cure cancer?

Yossi out for months
We needed a squad player, VDV wouldn't necessarily be willing to be that, and would want a good bit more than Yossi in wages. It's unfortunate that he got this injury, but at the end of the day, any player can get injured.

Mancienne
I'd love us to have a Fletcher type player come through... not in terms of playing like him, but someone who comes through and is just willing to work hard and be a backup, who slowly improves into being a vital cog in the side. It very rarely happens these days, with all players expecting to play big parts and youngsters naturally being less patient, but it'd be great to see. Mancienne could be that player, or he could not, only time will tell that.

Last Movie You Watched
It is of course just one way of interpreting the book, though. He could have meant things different to how they are, which is why I want to read Brave New World Revisited afterwards to get his explanation as to what exactly he meant... If only Nostradamus had a revisited book, it might make it a bit more obvious as to how far off he was.
