Have a listen see what you think...
Sorry for the double post, but I've just been looping Autonomous for about 15 minutes now. Don't think I'll be stopping any time soon :D

A player very conspicuous by his absence at the moment....
I actually considered posting about the same thing last night. Really shouldn't procrastinate. Really shouldn't. Anyway, I'd like to draw some comparisons between Mikel and Studge. A few weeks ago, at a press conference, Ray Wilkins (I believe) said that Studge needed a lot of work still and wasn't ready for full first team duty. I believe that Mikel is in the same boat. Carlo has probably plopped him on some remote hideaway in Siberia to work on his game (just about every aspect, really.). Ok, maybe I jest. To a point. I remember Carlo remarking when he first came in, that Mikel was a similar player to Carlo himself, when the boss was younger. Between Ray and Carlo's statements, I believe that Mikel is being refined (possibly for once in his life) to fit a definate role. Whether it is the DM role or something more advanced, I cannot say. However, I will say that I really do admire Mikel a great deal and would feel saddened should he leave. To that end, I think Carlo and the other coaches are working to give us yet ANOTHER new signing, after Joey Cole that is.

Pleased with what I've heard. I'd actually buy it, for real. Kinda felt like I was listening to U2 in parts (yes, you have just been compared to U2. :D), the more mellow stuff, definitely agree with teh Radiohead references. Traces of Filter. May you guys have a good career ahead, yea?

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Before the CC match last night, I had this strange idea that Rafa was gonna try and bomb out of all the tourneys so as to focus, and eventually win the PL. :) So its next year then, eh?

alex signs new deal
I believe it is more that most of these players were already in line for an extension prior to the ban, but have now been signed on just in case things don't go our way with the appeal. A good bit of foresight by the club.

Maybe because we have an Italian manager who was well-known throughout the Serie scene.

Naughty Maka
Oh yes, I heard these reviews can go on for HOURS! Wonder if Maka is still up to the task. I mean, he himself isn't that sprightly to begin with....

Soopa Chels vs. Scumbags Pictures
Love the pic of Cech and Hilario clasping hands. "Great game Hilly, now can I have my old job back?" "Just you try!"

Chelsea vs Liverpool (Premiership - Home 04/10/09 1600 KO)
I on the other hand...are worried about Lamps form. Its one thing if he's not scoring, but he no longer dominates the midfield and boss play from there. That aside it was a good performance from the team and I could actually see us get stronger as the game progressed. It will be key for us to take maximum points from our nearest rivals at home. 3 down 9 more to go.

We're boring
DKW, RAGE ON! Some fans just hit the panic button too early. Scolari wasn't too long ago, as it were.
-
We're boring
Uhm...actually I didn't..... :D

No respect
Do they ever switch positions? :D

We're boring
One more point. During Scolari's run, we struggled to break down teams like Hull and West Ham. At home even. Don't see that happening now do ya?
-
We're boring
Pile of crap. Really. 1) We were winning before Wigan. We dominated teams and took more and more of our chances. Lamps aside, most of our regular performers did the business. We're not a flair team. Our "wow" factor comes from the stifling, crushing play of our midfield and forwards. The fact we (normally) give our opponents very little time to recover from plays is and should be our hallmark. 2) Yes we're not playing it galacticos-style, but we don't have the players for it. I'm very sure we made attempts during the summer, but given the nature of THAT transfer window, it was impossible to do ANY shopping. 3) There are very few managers left in the world who can take us to the next level. I believe that Carlo is the one. His constant use of Belletti and neglect of Studge aside, he's gotten his team selection and subs spot on. Understandably, we're not playing at top gear now, but we should be focusing on getting the basics right, not pointless issues of flair and trick-ponies.

21st Century Breakdown
There have been bands that were popular before, but garnered insane mainstream sucess after the release of a single release that was not their first album (Metallica - Black Album, Nirvana - Nevermind). US Idiot was what, I feel, made people take Green Day more seriously as a band, instead of just 3 guys singing about masturbation and pulling teeth.
-
21st Century Breakdown
Actually, I feel that the album before American Idiot, Warning I think it was called, already bore the matured mark fully-fleshed out in American Idiot. I haven't had a listen to the latest album, but I just hope that the band doesn't get defined by teh success of just that one album (no matter how good it may have been).

Bolton at home for the carling cup
Full draw: Ties played week commencing 26 October Blackburn v Peterborough Man City v Sc**thorpe Tottenham v Everton Barnsley v Man Utd Chelsea v Bolton Sunderland v Aston Villa Arsenal v Liverpool Portsmouth v Stoke Honestly speaking, I'm pleased that the Arse and Scum have drawn each other. Qualification of the next round should not be a problem for us, and the fact that a serious contender WILL be knocked out of the run makes life a lot easier.

Wigan vs Chelsea (Premiership 26/09/09 1500 KO)
Ancelotti on Wigan. Sounds like we're almost back to full strength, Deco back next week and Alex the week after! Great news!
