Scholes or Lampard
don't think so, Owen was the only Englishman to win it, right?

Deadline Day - 31/08/2012
not necessarily, the French window is still open for a few more days and the Russian one for a couple more weeks so players can still leave, we just can't sign anyone

Wasted it......?
Adriano ronaldinho, as good as he was he could've been a legend of the game mark vodka, while a great player(for an Australian), get thefeeling he fell out of love with the game and was more about going through the motions then trying to be the best he could be

van Der vaart went across a couple of years ago, think that's it. Was gonna say adebayor but think he was still at city when he went. maybe Woodgate?

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
I get the feeling with reina, after he saw their title challenging squad get dismantled he also wanted/still wants to leave but no one's come in for him. I still think he's a quality keeper but he has lost motivation and concentration, with no one pushing him for his spot and no real chance of any trophies

Vidic with an own goal after De Gea kinda half went for a cross and flapped at it. Pretty sure Man U will still see this out though only the 4mins of IT left

Olympics - Once and For All
Bolt is seriously a freak Here he is compared to every 100m Olympic medallist for the last 116 years http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/08/05/sports/olympics/the-100-meter-dash-one-race-every-medalist-ever.html?hp Felt bad for Powell though going out injured, I'm guessing he would've been part of the 4x100 right?

Olympics - Once and For All
Hmmm most famous there... I'd probably go with Bolt, but Kobe would be close (dont think Lebron would be as well known to be honest) although I think Federer is there for the tennis so he'd be a good shout as well

The Oscar thread
Think it might be 0-999 actually I know with Australia a few years ago we used some pretty high numbers when we played a world cup qualifier (or it might've been an Asian cup qualifier) and we had players with numbers that where over 100

Andre Schurrle for 15m
Definately seems a great player, one thing I did notice though was in the euros against Greece he got robbed of possession a few times and one of those lead to the first goal. Obviously he's still young so those kinds of mistakes will become less common but just something I noticed. Does have a rifle of a shot though that's for sure

Ahh I'm pretty sure the trophy you missed was the Barclay Asia Trophy (it was actually Nando's first trophy) Although now that I think about it maybe there was another trophy I'm missing... We didn't win the Johnstone's Paint Trophy did we? Nah surely I'd remember something as historic as that, ah well I'm sure it'll come to me later

Bye Bye Kalou
An infuriating player on his day, would jink past 3 defenders then shank the ball to row Z, or be caught offside like his hero growing up was Inzaghi But damn the lad scored some important goals for us, always busted a gut and never really complained about having a squad role. Hopefully he gets a run at a non-English team and it goes really well for him

"Barcelona plotting move for Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz"
Apparently the original heading was "Barcelona getting ready to be told to get f**ked by Chelsea" but the editor thought the new headline would get more webpage traffic

The Official Euro 2012 Thread
Just gonna say it was ridiculously cute how all the Spanish players brought their kids on the pitch after the game And At least Spain actually played football today not the sideways machine they've been for most of the tournament

The Official Euro 2012 Thread
Ninis didn't have the greatest tournament, first game against Poland he was trying to do to much and was with gekas upfront who isn't mobile enough for his style of play. Also he was always the first sacrificed only played about 100 minutes over the four games. He is a good player though and has transferred to Parma now, but the style we played didn't suit him at all. Also a shame Fetfatzidis didn't get any minutes who is another exciting young Greek talent, (similar talent to ninis but he plays on the left and is a year or two younger)

Thanks guys Definitely proud of how the team did at this tournament, with all the setbacks and bad luck we had always performed with courage, but this was just a bridge too far. No shame in losing to a fantastic German team though, hopefully you guys go on and win the tournament as you play the most exciting football at the moment (you guys actually shoot unlike the Spanish sideways machine)
