TwatFaced Arsef**k
I need to wait until the 4th Jan to find out where I will be working on the 24th, if it's Liverpool (which is a strong possibility), I will try and get a ticket before the morning of the 5th when they go on sale to members...if there any left at that point. Do you have a ticket already?

My seat is in the Shed Upper and the support for the team was fantastic...there was even a chorus of "Didier Drogba" after the comedy free kick, in order to drown out the howling from Bolton. It was really good to see the fans getting behind the team when they have not been at their best, reminded me of the "old days", there was even a fight on the train on the way home! My mate sits in the MH Upper and said there was some booing at half time, seems to depend on where you sit. Before I had a season ticket, I have sat all over the ground and there does seem to be more booing from the MH than from the Shed in general.

MOTM vs Arsenal
I went for JT although I can certainly see why Ivan has got the majority of votes.

Decision time
I would like to see a mix of youth and experience on the bench, although, it may mean buying one or two players in the upcoming transfer window. Last year when we went through a loss of form on December we had the options of Ballack, Belletti, Carvalho, Cole and Deco to choose from as well as a couple of the current youngsters. Without including Turnbull (who I can only think of being used in the event of a sending off or injury to Cech) our bench last night had an average age of 21 and that is taking into account a twenty eight year old Bosingwa, without him it was 19.6. Although, I agree that it is crucial to bring the youngsters on, I think it is too risky to use them primarily when we are losing or desperately on the back foot and expect them to turn the game around, for me this is the kind of pressure that should soaked up by more experienced players where possible.

Who do we need in January?
I would like to see a defender bought in as well. I know Carvalho left for different reasons than Cole, Ballack, Belletti, however, he was still not replaced and we are now forced to play Ivan at CB when he did such a great job for as at RB in a double winning season.

Chelsea v Manchester United (PL) 19/12/10 KO 16:00 GMT
From a totally selfish point of view, I am kind of relieved, living 5 miles from Gatwick travelling to the ground was looking a bit shaky for tomorrow and now Sky Tv has just gone down.

Yep...I see it now posted in the official match thread. I was unable to page 4 in my browser earlier for some reason.

Good press for Didier
I don't think that it is without meaning that he British Museum considered DD's number 11 shirt as an entry for the final object in their "A History of the World" exhibit. He is the most famous person in his own country and so much more than a footballer, he is considered by some, to have contributed to the end of a civil war in the Ivory Coast. My link

Planning my first trip to Stamford Bridge
Have you got seven memberships, seven seats together may be difficult otherwise? If you do have seven memberships, the person buying the ticket will need to add them all to Family and Friends, so that you can make a group purchase otherwise you will not get them together if you buy online.

Getting To St. Andrews on Saturday
You can get to Bordesley (still a 10 minute walk) from Moor Street or Snow Hill, Moor Street is closest to New Street (almost opposite), but both are only a few minutes walk from each other. Might be an idea to check with National Rail Enquiries (08457484950) as it looks as if the trains stop running to Bordesley about 14:40 from both stations until around 17:30. Also if you turn left out of the main entrance of New Street (where taxis are) you can catch a 97 or 97A bus straight to the ground. I would recommend drinking in Broad Street, which is a couple of minutes from New Street station before moving on.

The Sky comment really struck home here. Although location and finances may not allow for regular attendance at the Bridge and we do have loyal supporters that can never attend, I strongly believe that only watching on TV makes it practical to only support a top four team, due to these being the only teams you will really get the chance to watch, which in itself lends itself to the glory hunting mentality of supporting a regularly successful team. If you only ever watch the game on TV, the main celebration from some fans seems to come from the banter they can inflict on colleagues or other drinkers in the pub, rather than culture of going to the games with like minded supporters who are much more likely to see the team through thick and thin due to the game being a big part of their social life...which means I for one are much likely to stick with it, because this is where my mates are.

Totally agree with what you say about the Malouda booing...the delight at Ramires replacement is hardly likely to do much for his confidence either, whilst he is cutting his teeth. I would love to say that the booing came mainly from the East and West stands, where our hardcore fans don't generally tend to sit, however, the loudness made it difficult to pinpoint (my seat is in the Shed Upper), but, it did seem to come mainly from the Mathew Harding....although the MH contingent might correct me here. For me booing falls into two categories: Q: Are you booing because you feel the lack of form is permanent? A: Support another team and do not attend again. If you have a season ticket, you should be able to sell it on the Viagogo website for the rest of the season. Q: Are you booing due to a temporary lack of form? A: We cheer and sing to spur our team on. Would it not be reasonable to assume that booing is going to have the opposite effect? After all you will rapidly forget the blip when things are going well again.

It may not be that long...the boo-boys were out today at the end. This for me was more disappointing than the defeat.

There is nothing like a convincing home defeat on top of the drowning of sorrows leading to a complete lack of common sense and speaking from the backside. Here are a few classics I heard on the platform/train tonight on the way home: "I would drop Cech" "It's all fixed, Village didn't even get booked for celebrating in the crowd at Villa yesterday" From a kid no older than 18 year with an Oxford accent you could cut glass with "It's all the supporters that came with the money, some of them are twice my age and have never stood in the Shed" Anyone, got any others that didn't come from some of our own members who were posting tonight? Whilst we all hate to see a performance like we turned in today and the natural reaction is to criticise, the team needs support when it fails as well as when it succeeds.

Big Day for Mikel
There have been many posts recently praising Mikel and his recent good form. In the event that Essien does not start today, due to a toe injury, this should be a great opportunity for Mikel to keep on top of Gerrard and show any critics he really is becoming the finished article. Here's hoping he has a great game today.

Torres Leaving L'Pool
Got to agree, he has not looked like he is up for the fight that Liverpool now face to get back up the table. I think he has looked like he wishes he was somewhere else since the latter end of last season. I think it is hard to tell whether his injuries have been compounded by Liverpool's need to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible, but, with the potential price tag attached, it would be way too risky for me. According to the Sunday People this morning, Man City are out to get their man!!! Man City Torres pledge
