  1. just heard it myself...never saw him play, but world cup winner so will always be remembered...condolences to his firends and family
  2. as i've said before i'm half dreading it, half craving it...i fear the worst and am desperate for the best
  3. just seen the footage on sky, hilarious
  4. I watched a bit of the pfa awards on sky tonight and it was a real man u love fest...not just for ronaldo, but fergie got a special award and there were loads of nauseating tributes...sitting there sucking it up was drogba and lampard ( there may have been more cfc players, I couldn't see), but I just hope they watched that and it gave them even more motivation to beat them...it came across as utd's season, utd's title etc and if they were annoyed half as much as I was then the chelsea players should be ready to kick some arse!
  5. we were embarassing two years ago...just treated it like a normal league game and were humbled by passion of liv fans at anfield as much as it hurst me to say it...well there's no excuses now...pool think that we have no passion, we're not as good as pool fans...i don't believe that, I have been to some corkers at sb, I just think we were a bit cocky, blase maybe as we were dominating the prem...anyway, everyone going to the game shopuld read this and let liverpool know that they are wrong and give them hell http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002 ... 93,00.html
  6. Just so I don't get a reputation for being a complete doomer, I have to say that the point we got this weekend was much better than united's point...no-one would have tipped utd to drop pts on sat, whereas on paper newcastle away is one where the pundits and fans alike would say we could drop pts...i'm still not happy with the way we played, but if utd drop pts the way they did at home despite having the blatant help of the ref, then their games at everton, man city and ourselves will be even tougher for them
  7. football is a passionate game ethical and me being upset about us not doing the business yesterday is about us not performing yesterday and not an inditement of the whole season. You seem quite happy whether we win the title or not, I however am not so ready to raise the white flag and give the trophy back to utd...my frustration yesterday reflects my desperation to win, not sure your post says the same
  8. i know people say the players know more than anyone else, but do they? I think they're more influenced by the papers than anyone and the majority of players don't even play in the prem against these players...everyone knows sky, the press have been full of praise for utd, while sticking the boot into chelsea and that has been reflected in the voting...if you see sky sports news bigging up utd and then saying chelsea dug in, lucky again etc someone of small mind (ie footballers) will be influenced
  9. we all knew drogba was going to lose out to ronaldo for player of the year, but I find it amazing that cfc can be so disrespected that a team still on for the quad has no other player in the pfa xi...utd have eight! http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea18070 ... _2209129_1
  10. 12 hours after the end pf the game I have finally calmed down and realised that the title/theme of my heading was maybe wrong...like you and some others have said, it's was more the most disappointing/frustrating performance of the season...i still can't understand, as tired as the players obviously are, why they showed such lowsy passion and desire..i mean what's the point in fighting all those months, all those last minute winners in the hope of a utd slip up, to come out as lifeless and as pathetic as that? after west ham, where we played good footy and showed all the right characteristics, how can we go so far the other way...that's why i wonder whether the champs league is the priority after all
  11. ballack showed more/quicker movement than lamps when he got nobbled!
  12. what made me so angry was the lack of passion and intensity...we all know the players are tired, but that's no excuse for not looking like you want to win the game...cech must have got more touches of the ball than anyone else due to all the pass-backs
  13. no mate you're talking bollox...I saw more fight in those games, plus we were heavily understrength at the time...we had pretty much our best team availaible minus carvalho and showed no desire at all...we're going for the league not 10th
  14. Cech 7 great save to get his team-mates out of a hole ferreira 4 looked the weakest link in back four all day terry 6 fought ok but lost his cool with his run-ins with sibierski essien 7.1 mom for me...good at back and seemed only one willing to run at them and that was from a deep position bridge 6 defended okay but seemed unwilling to get forward a la west ham...seemed more worried by dyer maka 6 solid but nothing special ballack not on long enough to get a rating lampard 3 his worst display in a chelsea shirt...seen more life in a corpse swp 6 was doing okay, not great but felt he was victim of wrong sub...it should have been maka Kalou 6 got better as game went on but final ball was disappointing...missed a greast chance when he didn't hit it properly Drogba 5 outplayed by taylor and bramble enough said Subs Cole 6 had great chance at end but didn't affect game as much as one hoped sheva 5 anonymous Mikel 6 should have started
  15. an absolute disgrace...no fight, no passion, no will to win, no bottle...words I thought I'd never use for this team, but they played as if nothing was at stake...was their eye more on liverpool than newcastle, who are a sh*te side and were there for the taking...waited so longh for utd to slip and then we play like that...i'm fuming
  16. a disgrace of a first half...i hope jose is in there kicking the sh*t out of them...where's the passion, desire to win the title...utd give as the opportunity we have been waiting for and we play as if we are in 11th place with nothing to play for dreaming of summer holidays
  17. paulo gets a gold star
  18. good goal but poor defending...just like england with maradona, terrible defending! take the tosser out, don't just let him run with it
  19. i admit i'm sexist on this one...she's not welcome as far as i'm concerned...it's just beeb being politically correct...bet there are a few more talented guys passed up just cos she's a woman
  20. one hope is that a number of tickets get sent to all 92 clubs and it's standard procedure for clubs to give their allocation to the two finalists as a gesture...I think we have given up ours in the past so it might free up some more...won't be enough for me to get a ticket though...hope the tosser who gets my seat enjoys the overpriced food, beer and the walk out the stadium with 10 mins to go to escape the traffic having barely watched the game
  21. I knew it had to happen eventually but me and gullit agree on something...Bridge's performance was top draw and showed once again why he's the best left back at the club..he looked a tad vulnerable in first 10 when he had no cover to help him, probably cos mikel was getting used to playing left mid rather than holding role...but after that he was solid as a rock and superior to cole goingh forward...cole's defensive capabilities have been shown up time and time again this season with players running past him far too easily and a number of crosses being delivered on his flank...I believe ashley has benefitted from the same press that gerrard has...sure they have talent but they're not as good as people have made out...every time i hear 'best left back in the world' I cringe.
  22. it definitely seems that the story he was arnesen's signing is true...i mean ballack has been sh*te many times but jose has stood by him...boulahrouz had a couple of dodgy games and is nowhere to be seen
  23. the fa is supposed to work for the interests of the national game, not the prawn sandwich brigade...money talks but fans money isn't as important...no wonder the england team is in such a state...these are the same muppets that gave sven ?5m a year to stuff it up and then employ mcclaren to do the same thing...what was that about p*ss up in a brewery
  24. i agree...jt is a shadow of his former self at the mo...hopefully he'll take some anadin and get his head right
  25. loz we have already agreed on the points you've made on live chat...just want to point out again how tyler sounded so disappointed and muted when we scored, yet was euphoric when west ham netted
