CL Final, Barcelona v. Man U. 27/5/09, 19:45 BST

so weve had a semi final v barca and now utd have a final v barca. when we played them the media was full of love for the beautiful football barca play and how they were going to beat us and win for football. we were cast as some sort of lumbering brute waiting to kcik barca round the pitch and win through pure brutality. this time round though the media is full of love for the mancs and how this final will be a magnificent spectacle because of the footballing phiolsophies of both clubs. they obviously have completley forgotten last seasons semis where utd scored then defended with 11 men for almost 180 minutes. they say were paranoid, but it doesnt mean they dont have it in for us.....

Thought we could use this as the match thread - cheers dkw :)

It's like the final between Manure and Bayern Munich in 1999: I don't know which club I dislike more  I'm leaning towards supporting Barcelona tonight. It's not their fault that we were stitched up in the semi, and I really, really don't want Rednose crowing about winning the CL back to back, on top of their league titles.

I dont care who wins.

Worst case scenario would be a thrilling 5-4 win to Barcelona, with the winning goal coming in the 120th minute of extra time. The referee didnt blow his whistle once the whole match, no yellow or red cards, and Platini declaring football is the winner.

Best case scenario, a boring 0-0 for 120 minutes, then in the last minute the referee gives Barca a penalty for handball, but TV replay clearly shows it wasnt handball and it wasnt even in the penalty area. Ends up with Fergy going up to the on pitch camera and shouting "Drogbas right, its a f**king disgrace". UEFA end up in court on match fixing charges, Platini is sacked, and Ken Bates takes over UEFA. f**king priceless.

That would make me smile.

Exactly.

I'm with you Coco.

We are cursed in this comp and, to be frank, I've got a massive chip on my shoulder that I'm not sure I want to get rid of. I hope it's a lame 1-0 to Barca with an early goal to Puyol or something like that, and is remembered as a nothing final between two overrated sides.

God I hate to live at home right now. I don't want to watch this crappy final but my mom is going to watch it since she supports Barcelona! She actually missed the last semifinal against Chelsea and in the final minutes I had to commentate on the game to her on the phone. Can you imagine anything worse?

To top it all my dear old dad went with his job to Barcelona this last weekend and what did he bring back? He brought a scarf - a official Barcelona vs Man United scarf - and a Barcelona shirt.....with the name Messi on the back. That was for my mom. What did I get? Nothing.

I'm already pissed off as it is. Not only because we were robbed of place in the final, but also my dad giving my mom things that he knows will piss me off.

So just to make one thing clear. If Barcelona wins tonight, I will become an orphan... :shok:

Well after listening to Liverool fans on the radio earlier it wouldnt hurt too much if the Mancs win. Dear god in heaven , they just wont let f***ing go of the 'We won it 5 times ' how they dominated Europe and Utd are just imosters without really dominating Europe the way they did . I had to turn them off , bitter , jealous spiteful c**ts living in the past . Saying that, i hoe Barca win, disuted enalty as was already suggested.

Mass pitch punch up started by Rio, huge pitch invasion by fans wearing manc shirts, SAF punching Platini in the mush - outcome? JT gets 10 match ban for the pitch brawl, Chelsea get kicked out of Europe for the pitch invasion and Ancelotti gets the blame for Platini even though he hasn't officially joined us yet.

I'll be watching the game later, cos there's beer envolved- thats the only reason.

Who do i want to win? I couldn't care less, but if you put my ball's in a vice for an answer I'd say Utd. Just to see the look on Platini and Blatter's faces, and because they won their semi-final fair and square

The f**king scouse c**ts at Soccernet (ESPN) are at it already!

"How fitting the stage is the Eternal City because we should be in for an epic night of football between the two best teams on the planet. Both play attacking football, both are jam packed with superstars and both are not Chelsea. I think we can all be grateful for that."

I seriously hope a mob of angry Roma fans trample him. ;)

I am hoping for a 120 min game of mummifying boredom, then the ref, as per instructions, gives a dodgy penalty to Barca, sends vdSaar off, mass pitch invasion follows, Alves gets a kick in the balls, Ronaldo gets raped, Eto'o is impaled on a post, Red Nose is made to swallow his chewing gum, while a sniper takes aim at both Platini's ears.

I can go to bed a happy man if that happens.

I would rather see the whole Barca squad get trampled.
