Its being reported thta we are trying to hijack the deal. TBH I'm not totally sure I'd want him but if we can stick our oar in make Real pay over the top tha would do me considering their dealings with us on the Robinho transfer.

As someone else said here.. is he really any better than Lamps? particularly in the EPL ?.. I dont think so ! and for that kind of money.. should we be bidding for someone Messi or an out and out stricker.

This is pretty low I think on Kaka's part, after he said that he wants to stay in Milan earlier today.

Kaka has not agreed anything, it's just between AC Milan and Madrid. Apparently there is rumours that we have put a better bid in too sign him. I personally don't think we will pay that much but if we do Roman loves Kaka.

It has been reported by quite a few sources now that he has either signed or that the fee has been agreed however itis entiely possible that all the sources ae just copying the story from the original source.

Its funny how this has basically materialized out of nothing. This feels like the old Perez galactico transfers. They are commonly recognized targets who are suddenly "practically signed" and then, even if it hasnt officially happened, it basically has.

This has a different feel than the rest of the Ronaldo/Kaka to Madrid garbage seen every year. I feel like this will happen.

And like G4 I dont see anyone else getting involved. Kaka will do it because Madrid is not City, and Milan will do it because I dont think any other "big" clubs are going to match that.

Its not owned directly, but its essentially their propaganda outlet. They were part of the Madrid media machine Florentino Perez used to force all the other galactico signings through during his first reign

I remember in 2004 I was watching SSN late one night in Ireland and Marca supposedly broke the news that Vieira had signed for Madrid. Of course, it never happened, but they got pretty damned close

Even with a matching bid, I doubt we get him away from Real

Real's war chest is rumored to be absurd and I know we have a lot as well but I can't imagine RA wanting him nearly as much as what Real will bid to get

I have read the same rumors about their potential spending this summer. It sounds as if it is going to compete with City who have already got the ball rolling

I looked at wikipedia to see what Perez's personal wealth is rated at (1.8 billion, apparently) and someone has changed his alma mater to Clown College

Roman might just be jacking the price up to get back at Real, before pulling out at the last minute.

Yeah i agree, however does this mean this is our only signing of the season? If this deal goes ahead, will there be any more money going in for other players because i personally get the feeling we have made a bid because we are surprised he has only just now become very much available.

Any other signing's will be self-funded if this goes through, which I doubt it will. Roman said that if the right player comes along, then he'll open his cheque book. Kaka is that player. If we don't get him, then it'll probably be Zhirkov or a striker, Pato?

I quite agree. Great player, I'd love to see him at the Bridge, but not for that kind of money. The kind of cash being thrown around in the game has long gone way beyond silly money, but this kind of price for one player, whoever he may be, is not so much fantastic as obscene.

I reckon Iniesta who is much younger should be who we should be bidding for at a more reasonable price. Kaka however is a class apart from Lampard and Joe is not a similar player IMO.

What we clearly need is a creative force who is a clever user of the ball & can pick out a pass through the eyes of a needle. which we clearly need.

however for the rumoured 70m can't we get in Turnbull, Zhirkov, David Silva, Modric, Sturridge and a Pato like player (e.g.Giovinco, Lavezzi, Zarate) and we would be sorted for many season, Just a thought.
