June 11, 200915 yr You make it sound like its as simple as going down to the corner shop to buy some flour.

You're grossly misinformed about David Villa. The guy's a very humble and private person who's stayed at a club in disastrous financial circumstances to try and help them out. He's also a wonderful player but apparently Madrid are set to buy him for 37M.

He's also a wonderful player but apparently Madrid are set to buy him for 37M. agreed. and he is quite probably the most gifted finisher in the world
June 11, 200915 yr You make it sound like its as simple as going down to the corner shop to buy some flour. It isn't? I thought you just walk into the Milan Shop close by San Siro, take what you want and pay at the counter. Most credit cards accepted. Although the lady at the counter doesn't speak english..
June 11, 200915 yr Madrid will be scary good next year if Villa joins them there Their defence is still embarrassingly bad. Barca will still show them how it's done.
June 11, 200915 yr Madrid will be scary good next year if Villa joins them there i hope we will met real next seasone we have essien for kaka we have a.cole for ronaldo we have terry for villa hahah ;) hope we will sign any player
June 11, 200915 yr Their defence is still embarrassingly bad. Barca will still show them how it's done. every madrid game will finish about 8-6 minimum if they dont sort that defence out.
June 11, 200915 yr Brandinho is right. Villa is anything but a "snakey Spanish prick". He is industrious on the field and loyal off it, I can see that without knowing a thing about his personal life. Those are two qualities I WANT in a player, even if I dont think its a wise investment to buy him. If we are presented two options A. Spending 45 million on an admittedly brilliant Pato, lining the coffers of a club that have merked us many times in the past run by a hierarchy that is tighter than a duck's butt OR B. Spreading that money around among other, less accomplished young players who can be had, i.e. Zhirkov, Dzeko, Pandev, etc etc etc to improve the team overall then I take option B. There are other brilliant players in the world besides Pato. We dont have to be held hostage, and we cannot afford to come in all guns blazing like Madrid
June 11, 200915 yr If Roman and company felt that getting Pato was as simple as giving them X amount that is somewhat reasonable, it would have already been done, imo
June 11, 200915 yr What would it cost to buy Pato out of his contract. I dunno but let's break the new transfer record Not let Real hog all the news
June 11, 200915 yr I am still trying to work out what is wrong with being Spanish - after all Ferrer was a nice fella! Oh and Villa is also a fine striker.
June 11, 200915 yr I am still trying to work out what is wrong with being Spanish - after all Ferrer was a nice fella!Oh and Villa is also a fine striker. And not every Spaniard is a mealy-mouthed, bullsh*tting lardy-arsed Spanish (ok ok, every Spaniard is Spanish) gay icon with a dodgy beard.

How many strikers we've bought since Roman came? If we had spent 50 million on Villa back then, we would have actually saved a lot of money.
June 11, 200915 yr For all we know we are not even in for Pato, press make up stupid things and players react. We are a world class club and i expect us to have sorted our transfer targets already. If it's pato, aguero or someone we haven't been linked with, we just have to hope it's done as soon as possible. Villa looks every day that it's not going to happen as he wants to stay in spain due to family reasons and you have to respect that decision. Pato, in my opinion he's heared what the press have made up and he is tempted by what they have said. I don't think we have even enquired about Pato. Aguero looks like we may have but nobody knows anything until it's official, Chelsea haven't come about saying we have made a bid for someone, until then i won't believe it. If we deny a bid for someone like we did Kaka, it shows the press 90% of the time get it wrong. Let's just hope we get this sorted as soon as possible Players in for me Pato/Aguero ( would be hilarious if we got both ) VDV ( bargain of the season if we picked him up for a couple of million ) Ashley Young ( I have a new found liking to this guy ) And as for the poster saying Villa is a sneaky spanish blah, i have to disagree completely. The biggest clubs in the world of come in for this guy and he's rejected the chance to play for them cause he wanted to be loyal to Valencia. If Valencia wern't in such a financial mess Villa would be staying and you have to respect that. Villa is only moving to Madrid because it's his only spanish option. Even with that current lineup, we still have players like Ballack and Anelka out of the starting eleven, who are both brilliant players, and the younger players like Stoch, Cork and Mancienne will also miss out. With that in mind, we only need to make a move for players if they're absolute genuine world class, ie. the players you mentioned - Aguero, Pato, Benzema, Ribery... I'm really not sure buying any sort of player that isn't up to their standard (Adebayor, Ashley Young etc) will do us any good at all.
June 11, 200915 yr I am still trying to work out what is wrong with being Spanish Does this answer your question??
June 12, 200915 yr Author Still would not want the guy at the bridge, he doesnt fit and for the price they are asking it is silly to even talk about him coming. Pato is the best option, do not faff around and get the guy. Edited June 12, 200915 yr by Bridgeboy
June 13, 200915 yr David Villa would be awesome in any team, no doubt about it. The price for a 27 year is quoted to be pretty high indeed but for arguably the best striker in the world at the moment? Look at Kaka, 60 million spent on him and he's the same age as villa well there is months between it and Villa is just as effective on the pitch than Kaka. Would i want Aguero or Pato? Yes i'll be over the moon. Would i want us to sign David Villa for 38 million? I would love too. The only reason that people are worried about signing a player that is around the age well 2 years younger than Sheva. Just because Sheva was uncomfortable at Chelsea it doesn't mean Villa will be.
June 13, 200915 yr I think Villa would be good, but he'd take time to settle, and then he wouldn't have a great deal of time left at his best level whilst playing for us. I don't think he'd be worth the money.
