August 26, 200915 yr The mancs had better get a few more physios in if they do go ahead with this. Can you imagine the work overload there'll be with Owen & Robben both setting up digs in the treatment room?

August 26, 200915 yr I read somewhere recently that after his first season at Madrid, the club hired new coaches to work with him on his running style, and to make it such that he gets those niggling little leg injuries less often. Obviously it might be total b.s. considering he was laid up for part of last season. Overall, I think Robben realizes he is MUCH better off playing in Spain than in England
August 26, 200915 yr I'm not in the least bit worried about this. People have short memories. How many times did he produce the goods for us against the top teams with the top defenders? If he ever manages to get out of the treatment room and onto the pitch, simply get Alex to run up behind him and shout boo! Job done.
August 26, 200915 yr People have short memories. How many times did he produce the goods for us against the top teams with the top defenders? I don't have the stats about that, but people often tend to forget that you don't necessarily need to win against the top four if you do well enough in the other matches. Sure, it would be great if a player was able to tear apart every backline there is, but if he does it in 80% of the matches, then I think it's quite enough for one player. Besides...I don't think Robben was useless against the bigger teams, but the big problem was that he is made of glass.

August 26, 200915 yr Robben was all sugar or all sh*te for me. He could be immense and win a game in a turn, at will as well. Other times he spent more times on his arse or hobbling and was limoing about within minutes. I'm not too bothered if he goes to the Mancs, they will sign quality players and Robben is one of them but he will also be a liability to them at times. It will look like he and Owen have got a stone in their shoe most of the time and there will be a lot of headshaking towards the bench from both of them

Or you could do what Liverpool did last season and comfortably have the best record agianst the other top four sides and still fail to win the league.

August 27, 200915 yr this scares me, just what they need. Saying that nani is stepping up a bit this season
August 27, 200915 yr Smacks of desperation to me; heard Mike Phelan was out buying boxes of Donald Duck plasters

He changed the FA cup final against Manu before being kicked out of the game, and was instrumental against Arsenal from the bench in Cardiff setting up goals for Drogba. Both performances were against top sides, in finals, he deffinately changes games and gives the opposition something to worry about! Edited August 27, 200915 yr by BLUENUT
August 27, 200915 yr he deffinately changes games and gives the opposition something to worry about! Agree completely. I really hope he doesn't go there because you just know if he does he'll be injury free for the first time in his career.

Both performances were against top sides, in finals, he deffinately changes games and gives the opposition something to worry about! What did he do that was anything special against Man U? And wasn't that the Cardiff final where Arsene Whinger fielded his kids? A back four of Hoyte, Toure, Senderos, Traore. Toure apart, hardly what you'd call top defenders. Incidentally, probably quite telling that in both those games he was only deemed good enough for a place on the bench. He's a decent enough player but you'd think he was George Best the way some people go on about him. For us he was wildly inconsistent, didn't appear to fancy it much when the going got physical and, as I said before, never done alot in the big games.

August 27, 200915 yr Reports from Germany is that Bayern Munich are closing in on the transfer for Robben. Does this mean Ribery is on his way?
