Ancellotti v Scolari

Featured Replies

Don't try to say i'm posting because we have lost today. For the record I have been to every away game and all but one at home. I have a right to my opinion and am expecting ridicule by the likes of Loz and others who attend a few games but as loyal as me.

We should win the league, we have the players to do it, i've said it from the outset.

THE FACTS ARE

Us Man Utd and Liverpool have ageing teams

In Ancelotti I was wrong, not in the class of Jose or Guus or if records suggest Avram kin Grant as the future goes !

FLORENT MALOUDA WOULDN'T GET INTO any of the current top five siides or Villa for that extent. WE GOT INTO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL AND CLOSED THE GAP ON MANURE BECAUSE GRANT F*CKED OFF MALOUDA !

JOE COLE ON FOR 5 MINS - ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Dead ball situations - under Guus and Jose I rest my case.

Forgive me I am drunk, but love the blues

Man City and Arsenal are my bet this year now

PHIL AND CARLO ......... I could do better

JT, Ashley, Essien, Drogba, despite the lack in form Lampard, maybe Anelka in the long run, african nations ..........

Get a grip! Villa are no mugs and will drop very few points at home this season, Malouda on the whole has played pretty well this season and apart from having the title of manager Grant did not manage Chelsea.

ive had a few too star, but youre way over the top here mate

hounding out malouda is really unfair, there are so many players we have with more issues than him at the moment.

do you really, really think joe is our saviour? on what grounds ? anyway, he looks a tad overweight and seriously lacking any sort of touch and fitness from what i saw today

its far too convenient to blame ancelotti right now , some of those players out there need to take a long look at themselves

FFS what are you drinking??

Man City and Arsenal - Like Jezza says get a grip. Okay we were woeful in places and at times today and Ancelotti far from inspired confidence but it is way way too early to start writing us off or bigging others up.

The absynth seems to be kicking in at your last sentence

Villa away has always been such an easy place for us to go!

My only criticism of today was there seemed to be little urgency to change anything. Again, we passed very well, and completely dominated them in shots on goal, unfortunately they were all right at Friedel

We are still adapting to a new system under Carlo and it is the first time since Claudio that we have really been playing a different formation. Ever since jose all the other managers have struggled to change this. Malouda is a good player and he gets a lot of unfounded criticism. I do agree that Joey should have been bought on earlier to try and change the game up. As for your predictions for the title i think they are unlikely. Arsenal dont have what it takes to last the whole season, they have always been capable of good performances but they lose points far too easily. Citeh does worry me a bit because if they are in touch with the leaders come January they will spend big.

This is part of the problem , it is still really JM squad of players all of who were happy within a 4.3.3 formation. Theyve been asked to change to a more expansive game and are still coming to terms with it. Carlo as yet hasnt had the luxury of bringing in his own players to fit this system and has had to make do with the players he has been left with or bought before his tenure. Hopefully if part of the ban can be overturned this can be remidied. That said no manager can account for the poor finishing of today though I hope he adds corner taking / defending to his training schedule during the week.

Love ya Star. You always get a reaction.

Don't give up fella. Remeber the Pauly mantra............."Ancelotti is Italian, ergo, he is a genius".

Jesus,

just went to read the Sky interpretation of the match, which was actually quite fair and balanced. In the comments section there are people calling for Carlo to be sacked already. I think half these fans are victims of our success and can f**k right of for all I care

Anyone want to remind him what Mourinho's record against Aston Villa was?

Played: 7

Won: 2

Drawn: 4

Lost: 1

...and was sacked shortly after.

The only time we have really dominated Villa was last season under Scolari FFS- 2-0, they had one shot on target if I remember correctly, and we should have won about 4 or 5-0.

I haven't seen a bigger overreaction from a Star since the supernova that killed the dinosaurs. We played really well, had some bad luck, couldn't finish, and lost from two mistakes. Similar story to Wigan. Look at Liverpool; 1-0, not a f**king clue how to fashion a chance let alone get it in the net without Torres or Gerrard to take a dive in the 95th.

He does make a good point- our set pieces are utterly gash. In an attacking sense, Mourinho was lucky in that he had two very good takers in Robben and Duff; our goals from corners dried up when Lampard starting taking them, and we won't even go into Deco or Malouda. Hiddink IMO has been the only coach that actually got some proper organisation off set pieces, and for a side with the players we have we should be scoring a LOT more.

Defensively, it's much the same, even under Mourinho we had the same problem but it was always blamed on Carvalho ::clap2::. Serious set piece work is needed.

::clap2:: bloody well said. im not even slightly surprised to see this numpty appear after another defeat, but lets put this into perspective. we always struggle after an international week, as do all the big teams in the prem who`s players are all away. we also always struggle against villa away, and we did again. star, if you want any credibility at all on here then how about posting after a good win once in a while. otherwise you just look like a bitter imbecile.

There are and will be always fan, which want to see the ultimate team right after a manager switch, but there isn't.

Accept that, or watch out for another team or better, another sport, because carlo needs our trust and time for his methods/style.

The points were mentioned about finishing, defending, but yesterday i've seen great passing and ideas which show me the concept of carlo and thats very good.

The only point i dont get is: why the f**k carlo didnt give yuri a chance?!

He's fit, he passed his test on russia - germany (very well indeed) and imho he would do the job better than malouda.

Anyway, sad about yesterday because we should have won, but stay confident in carlo and the squad!

The sooner Alex is back the better - Carvalho is a weak link in the defense at the minute playing with the backs giving width has exposed him and he is just not big enough against the larger sides in set pieces.

Ancelotti beat a top four side convincingly.

Scolari... um

Which top four side is that?

Not the team currently sitting 8th in the table? :D

Ancelotti's Chelsea is nothing like Scolari's. Last season under Big Phil I felt we were clueless and desperate, it was painful to watch. Carlo like any manager needs time to put his mark on a team and learn more about his players and how to use them better.
