March 17, 201115 yr Albeit that Lee Majors possibly qualifies as the worst actor in screen history. He was acting?
March 17, 201115 yr No way was Steve Austin acting...I saw him years later in WWF Wrestlemania and he was as tough as he was in the seventies in 6 million Dollar man.

June 27, 201115 yr True Blood new season started just to let everyone know! Going to watch it tonight. Can't wait :)
June 27, 201115 yr Author When i created this thread i didn't really know what to call it and i had a quick google the word Cult came up. Just ignore the word Cult though and this is a thread about past and present T.v series. I am a big fan of the US tv shows but after the likes of 24 and Lost ending i feel there haven't been any brilliant tv shows since. Fringe has been good but not brilliant however im looking forward to 2 t.v shows coming to the US this fall. Terra Nova http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6aNEIZwPFc&hd=1 Alcatraz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_jAlFqvASU
June 27, 201115 yr I'll be watching both of them, Alcatraz in particular, Bad Robot have never let me down. Anyone catch the Fringe series finale? Absolutely fantastic end, can't wait for series 4. Have been gradually working through Chuck aswell, just finished series 3 earlier, it's so good. Very much a comedy drama, but it still has brilliant twists and a cracking storyline.
June 27, 201115 yr Author Yeah I did enjoy the fringe finale, sadly I think next season will be the last though. I enjoy Chuck as well though season 4 was a bit of a let down in my opinion story wise but it is still a good show and Jeffster are awesome. Im trying out Bones at the moment, first two seasons were good then it has turned into more of a comedy which is a shame because i enjoyed the interesting cases they had. Now it seems more focused on character development than the actual crime solving but it's still watchable. What i would do just go back and discover something like Lost and 24 again though. Watching them two shows for the first team were brilliant i couldn't turn it off and i had to watch the next episode over and over. Edited June 27, 201115 yr by Sheva
June 27, 201115 yr I hope it's not the last series, but like you I fear it will be. The viewers are decreasing so badly, it's such a shame. Jeffster are hilarious. Apparently the end of series 4 is fantastic? That's what I've heard from my friends who have watched it. But series 5 of Chuck is the last, so I'll get around to series 4 before that starts. Couldn't agree more. When I watched Lost, I was completely hooked from the start. With 24 I started it late (around Day 4 I think), but I've since been back and watched them all and it really is fantastic. We need something new and epic that grips people like they did. I hoped Flashforward would do that, but it was cancelled inexplicably after series 1. I was gutted. This summer I'm going to be watching so much TV. I've heard great things about House, but never seen a single episode. Same for Supernatural and I want to start The Wire too. All three of those series have at least 6 series to them so far, so I best get cracking.
June 27, 201115 yr 24 is unmitigated balderdash designed to persuade the population of the USA that torture is a justifiable means of gaining information especially if administered by sexy looking men and women who never ever die from their injuries until they are surplus to requirements. The Wire on the other hand is fantastic!

The Wire on the other hand is fantastic! Absolutely agree. Watched it not long ago and it was wonderful.
June 27, 201115 yr Author 24 is unmitigated balderdash designed to persuade the population of the USA that torture is a justifiable means of gaining information especially if administered by sexy looking men and women who never ever die from their injuries until they are surplus to requirements. The Wire on the other hand is fantastic! For me 24 wasn't about that. If you've watched all of the seasons which judging by your comment I very much doubt you have (if you have then I apologise) then I feel your comment is unwarranted. 24 wasen't just about Jack Bauer kicking ass and killing terrorists. For me every season was written brilliantly, the storylines and the twists/turns/characters were down well and each episode left you wanting more. Sure it had it's unrealistic moments but it's TV. It's all about personal preference at the end of the day but I can understand how you picture 24 because a lot of people have said the same thing about it but usually they don't get past season 1. I've yet to watch the Wire but will defiantly give it a go soon. Edited June 27, 201115 yr by Sheva
June 27, 201115 yr Author Also RBJ I recommend you give Psych ago if you like Chuck, very funny comedy about a fake psychic detective. It's in its 5 season if I remember and it is still going strong.
September 7, 201114 yr Finally going back to finish The Pacific, then going ahead and watching Band of Brothers right after it. Going to war in the modern age would be one thing, I can't even imagine fighting back in WWII. Crazy stuff.
September 7, 201114 yr Apparently they're bringing back The Fast Show. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/mediamonkeyblog/2011/sep/06/the-fast-show-returns Not sure if I like the idea of bringing it back, but I'll definitely watch at least the first episode when it comes out.

Yeah I was reading that, I really hope they dont screw it up as its easily one of the best comedy sketch shows of all time. Shame Mark Williams isnt returning, I always liked most of his sketches.
September 7, 201114 yr I really hope they dont screw it up as its easily one of the best comedy sketch shows of all time. I hope so too, but I'm fearing the worst. Then again, if the new episodes turn out to be crap, there's always the original series.
September 7, 201114 yr The showed Only Fools and Horses two episodes a day on BBC and it was the only thing worth watching during the day on Irish or British TV. Cash in the Attic , Bargain Hunt etc. who actually likes that absolutely dirge? The worst has to be the one where they have people buy sh*te houses, the people make them less sh*te and they bring the cameras round. How is that bloody entertainment. Has to be government mandated to discourage people from living on the dole or something. Edited September 7, 201114 yr by Pride of London
September 7, 201114 yr I know. It's absolutely gob-smacking, but I know several people who watch one after another of these mind-numbing programmes - e.g. Come Dine With Me, where ghastly people have dinner at each other's houses and bitch about it afterwards. Can't understand it. I just ordered myself Callan - The Monochrome years from Amazon - got to be better than anything that's on TV nowadays!

I have never watched "Come Dine With Me", but from what I can tell it's exactly like a show we have here in Sweden and I do watch that one. Quite enjoy to see what food people make and it's interesting to see the different personalities. Of course, some are false as hell and make me dislike them a lot, but it's still watchable.
September 8, 201114 yr I actually think that the "reality" television boom has given a good kick in the arse for people who create and produce fiction for television. The quality of fiction was quite low when the "reality" boom started, but since then, we've seen many quality series, especially from HBO. Fiction writers (for television) needed to raise their game, because (sad to say) some of the "reality" shows provided more entertainment than the fictional series. The scripts needed to get clever again to compete with the "reality" television. Edited September 8, 201114 yr by Maksimov
