There has to be a cheaper way

A Cole was fined 200 K earlier in the year and now up to 400 K for the most recently reported incident relating to the preseason in Seattle. Considering it was about 4 hours in the hotel, it seems fairly pricey even for a CFC first team regular.

Normally I don't comment on these stories but my family (wife and 4 daughters) were all keen watchers of footballers wives. We have since learned that its a pale substitute for the real thing.

Also amazing to learn he smokes a lot. How can a professional footballer in this day and age smoke and still retain Ashley's level of fitness. That in itself is amazing.

I cant believe it either. I thought all these unhealthy practices must be banned for footballers by their clubs.

oblivion, sky sports are now running a story that claims all that "considering his future" stuff is pure garbage.

As far as his personal habits, I think this story has been poorly handled by the club. If he was really fined so heavily earlier this year (I think for him thats only about 2 weeks wages, to be fair, which is a standard amount) then it shouldnt have come out now and they should handle it in house. But they need to take a firm line on him, without punishing him excessively considering the club stood by JT when he needed support.

Also, I cant really believe he is a heavy smoker. Maybe has an occasional smoke when out on the town, but no club would put up with that. Not with modern methods of team fitness and training

Serves him right.

Now can we PLEASE stop making the news for all the wrong reasons and actually focus on winning the title. As much as I largely couldn't care less what our players do off the pitch, this last month or so has taken the p*ss. Do your f*cking jobs and stay out of trouble - is that that much to ask?

agreed. Its not our fault that the media decide to ignore the transgressions of others and focus like a laser on our squad, but that is the way it is, and the club are right to tell the players enough is enough.

You'd think they would have personell to help keep players in line and coach them on how to avoid these situations and scandals (they do in American sports) but I guess not. I would rather Cole didnt get treated differently than JT, despite the situation, but from here on out I hope things change.

I wonder if these scandals will make the club start to look at the character of transfer targets before we buy them. i.e. No robinhos

Just......don't......want.......him........to.......go.............

He may be an ass off the field, but on it....best damn left back in the world (you know the line!)......we'd be hard pressed to replace him.

This will probably do him and his football a world of good, I read today in the daily mail that the girls Mum rocked up after the last affair and decided to stay.

If my misses wife just rocked up to keep an eye on me, I would tell both of them to f**k off.

Where has this 200 000pound fine come from ? I have not read any such statement from a Chelsea official.

These tabloids really have got it in for us, having won a back to back already this century, I doubt they could handle another leagie title.

Sad little boys with keyboards.
