John Terry injury

The Independent online says this:

John Terry is England's latest World Cup doubt with foot injury

The former captain is a certainty to make the final squad.

Fabio Capello's World Cup finals preparations were hit with another major setback today when John Terry was taken to hospital with a bad blow to his foot that could make the Chelsea captain a doubt for South Africa.

The latest injury to hit the England team, which took place in a Chelsea training session at Cobham, came just one day after Capello named Terry in his 30-man provisional squad in a group of five central defenders who already have serious injury problems. There are enormous doubts over the fitness of Rio Ferdinand and whether Ledley King's chronic knee problems will stand up to the rigours of tournament football.

Terry and Ferdinand are Capello's first-choice pairing to start against the United States in England's first group game on 12 June.

Never mind the worry about South Africa!! What about next Saturday!!!

Oh damn! sorry about all the rubbish stuff!

Whilst this is very unfortunate and I feel for JT, at least we have the league title in the bag.

Foot injury in training, possibly broken, has had scan.

Will miss WC if broken - without a doubt.

Won't be playing Sat - thats for sure.

No double for JT!

But how great would it be for League, Cup and World Cup... The best "treble". Without JT in Fabio's squad we've no chance.

Hope its all just media scaremongering. Get well soon, JT!

official club statement:

John Terry has today taken a knock in training and has gone to hospital for a precautionary scan on his right foot.

He left Cobham walking freely in a protective boot, and we await the results which are expected on Thursday.

According to SSN its a precautionary scan on his right foot, left Cobham with a protective "boot" on, he's able to walk...results due tomorrow.

Gutted for jt if this is true, but it's no disaster.

Can't see this changing how Saturday will pan out and as for England? I couldnt give a sh*t.

Jt gets a rest over the summer and I can watch england play safe in the knowledge that i won't get a ton of abuse of mates and collegues the moment jt misplaces a pass and I won't have to spend all summer defending him.

Fine by me.

call me old fashioned but since when do you have to wait 24hrs for the results of an Xray????

More concerned about saturday, it would be wrong if we were to win the cup and JT not get to lift it or even a medal.

I just heard a massive Homer Simpson like DOH!.................can only be Wayne Bridge.

The tabloid trash and a lot of our England fans will use him as a scapegoat to blame when we go out of it though, you know what its like. You could still end up defending him without him kicking a ball in it.

Guys, this is JT we're talking about - The Ironman!

A broken bone in the foot? That's nothing to him. You can cut off his foot and he'll still run out onto the pitch and outplay every other central defender England has!

All hail Terry!

The main job is done. I dont care about England ;)

In saying that I want them to go through so there is no gurning for a the rest of the weeks from the tv panels and press.

Its a shame Terry wont be able to stick in another performance to lift the cup after playing. He will be gutted!

I would hate for JT not to make it to the world cup, He has behaved badly in his private life and been punished for it in his work which has been a big dissapointment to him.

He must so want to have a good World Cup to ram it home to his critics as well as the fact that he loves (as he should) playing for his Country.

I can't join in with the people who think its OK as hes done his Job for Chelsea this season as I believe every Footballer should want to and be proud to play for his Country and I believe JT feels the same.

It will make watching Englands game a little less interesting on two counts for me if he doesn't make it...number one it will be one less Chelsea Player in the team and number two we will have far less chance to get anywhere in the competition without the best Centre back and leader England have regardless of who wears the Armband.

I want the World Cup to be a massive footballing event which i enjoy because the best players in the world are on show and not having JT there will certaintly leave a mark.
