gee Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 apparently he's a real talent, only 15 years old, and already a regular for the reserves and was on the bench against Newcastle. He won the U17's European Cup in the same team as Josh McEachran. An insider in Cobham has said he's a real prspect. A defender he's in apperance is quite lanky but deceptively strong. He's definately one to look out for. I was just wondering if anyone else knew anythng else about him... http://www.chelseafc.com/page/TheReservesProfiles/0,,10268~900396,00.html
Cam Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I was certainly impressed when I saw him pre-season. Amazingly talented for such a young man.
mad_mac Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 So far so good from what I've seen, but we need to remember...he's 15!
Barn Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 it speaks volumes that he's already been involved with the first team on a number of ocassion, but he needs to keep progressing in tne same manner. Time will tell if he can fulfill his potential.
Maverick Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Looks like he will be on the bench tomorrow may not get game time but the sheer involvement in first team will be a valuable experience.
Maksimov Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Looks like he will be on the bench tomorrow may not get game time but the sheer involvement in first team will be a valuable experience. Absolutely. It's a good sign that a 15 year old kid gets a place on the bench in a Premier League match at a club like Chelsea. Sure, some of the senior players are injured, but he still needs to be very good to get there ahead of some of the more experienced players.
Cam Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 15 years old...it still boggles the mind. If we played him, would he be the youngest Chelsea player ever?
Cam Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I would think the youngest in a league match would be high 16's or really early 17's I think we should play him just for the sake of a new record...bring him on in a game we're smashing someone lol
ivorycoast Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 A quick google search pulled up this. "James Vaughan was until Jose Baxter came on as a second half sub against Blackburn 16th August 2008 to become the youngest player to have played for Everton at the age of 16 years and 191 days. This beats James Vaughan's record by 80 days. The youngest player to appear in the Premiership is Fulham's Matthew Briggs aged 16 years and 65 days. James Vaughan remains the youngest scorer in the Premiership. " Here's hoping he breaks the record!
Cam Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I was actually talking about Chelsea record..but breaking the EPL record would be very nice. I'm not expecting anything of course...but still...
geezer Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Ian Chico Hamilton was our youngest player ever and not only that he scored too!! He was 16 years and 138 days old when he played against Spurs on the 18th March 1967.
chelseabootboy Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Ian Chico Hamilton was our youngest player ever and not only that he scored too!! He was 16 years and 138 days old when he played against Spurs on the 18th March 1967. what a debut..
ScandiBlue Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 You can't use 15 year olds in the premier league!! He does look an amazing talent, was very impressed with him in the youth side last season.
Hutch Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Highlighted by the Telegraph as one of five possible "stars of tomorrow". The article includes just the briefest of bio's but even so it's nice to see another Chelsea youngster getting a bit of recognition: Nathaniel Chalobah: ChelseaBorn: Dec 12, 1994 Position: Defender Nathaniel Chalobah, 16, regularly leads out the Chelsea reserves after making his debut in August last year aged just 15. The tall defender, despite being born in Sierra Leone, made his debut for the England’s Under-17s aged 14 and has already captained the side. Chalobah can play in central defence or midfield and came through the Chelsea Academy. LINK
youlots Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 The tall defender, despite being born in Sierra Leone, made his debut for the England’s Under-17s aged 14 and has already captained the side. Ah, the english press...
Hutch Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Returns from suspension to captain the England under 17 against Denmark this afternoon. the match kicks off at 2pm UK time, streams are available.
abramovich Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Scored a decisive penalty against Argentina. http://stasamtireko-highlights.blogspot.com/2011/06/3006-thu-2200-england-u17-1-1-argentina.html
The Moos Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Scored a decisive penalty against Argentina. http://stasamtireko-highlights.blogspot.com/2011/06/3006-thu-2200-england-u17-1-1-argentina.html Nice penalty, but what on earth was the english goalie doing on the first goal!? And he did the same mistake again later on.
dkw Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Chalobah really does look a great prospect. He is so calm on the ball, his positioning is excellent, great in the air (in both penalty areas) and captains the under 17`s as the youngest player in the squad.
Spiller86 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I reckon he'll play a similar role to McEachran last season, getting a few games here and there. He's certainly a great prospect. This is an article from a little while ago from WeAin'tGotNoHistory (which is a good blog btw) http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2011/1/19/1944499/a-look-at-the-academy-nathaniel-chalobah
Barn Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Might still be too early for him to feature much this season, players will still go past him too easily, but hopefully a big role for the reserves this season will see him pushing for the first team the following year. There's no doubting his talent but he's not there yet.
PloKoon13 Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I just added this fellow on Facebook - I haven't spoken to him personally yet but he comes across as polite and humble while still being up for a joke. Plus he seems like a real talent...
Scooby Blue Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 He is currently playing against ze Germans. We're 1-0 down after looking like the better side early on. Watch it here
Castiel Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I was really impressed with him against Pompy. Hilario didn't make his life easy with the back header but his recovery was exceptional considering his age. Cool under pressure and he looks like he'll become an absolute destroyer of a CB, like Terry/Carvalho/Ivan etc - always great to have. Obviously he's too young to be featuring in the first team on any regular basis for a while yet, but it looks like we've got a real academy prospect on our hands.
