July 28, 2025Jul 28 So Donnarumma really is going to leave then? I thought that was all bullsh*t 😆 This new guy isn't coming in to play as number 2. Donnarumma is only 26, one of the best keepers in the world, why do PSG want to sell him? I would love for us to go for him, but I think we have our eyes on developing Penders and we are already pretty busy working on other signings and selling players. I feel like a lot of top clubs will be looking for a keeper though. Neuer is 39 and well passed his best at Bayern. Ederson the same at City. Courtois is 33 now, so maybe Real Madrid will be interested. Barcelona's keepers aren't exactly top tier either, but I'm not sure they can afford him. United........yeah, no chance that is happening.

Maybe he goes to one of the clubs you mentioned and we could take one of the older keepers who still has a few good years in him, upgrades Sanchez and helps but doesn’t hinder Penders progression. Our GK position still needs fixing. If we can’t get Donarouma maybe a domino effect is going to happen that might suit us.🤞Or just get Donarouma, who knows if Penders will be all that? July 28, 2025Jul 28 Personally I would probably prefer Unai Simon with Penders then coming through. I would also like Donnarumma but I read his wages, especially for a GK, are crazy.
July 28, 2025Jul 28 I would prefer Maignan to him.Maignan is excellent at distribution, probably his biggest strength which will compliment our team massively.Donnaruma is pretty awful with the ball at his feet, he’ll most likely struggle under Maresca. He’s clearly better than what we have and I don’t doubt his shot stopping skills but he’s not suited to us really, which is precisely why PSG are getting rid imo. They want a keeper who can pass the ball, to make their progressive football even stronger.
July 28, 2025Jul 28 What’s Penders like with the ball at his feet? He’s 18 and played 20 games in Belgium. How much can we know at this stage? Can we really expect him to answer our prayers? Certainly not for the next couple of years. While we have Sanchez who makes me a bag of nerves trying to be super casual with the ball at his feet. And a manager who tells him if he goes long he’s hooked which everyone now knows and encourages the press.I like a keeper who keeps clean sheets. Commands his area, organises and instills confidence in his defenders. Anything else is a bonus.Drogba was great in our box defending corners but he wasn’t in the team because of it. His job was to score goals. It’s the same with a keeper for me.

Always felt his career was weird even though it’s paid off; started out at 17yrs for his boyhood club, AC Milan and somehow moved to PSG for the money. He seems to be moving at the peak of his career again for more money; wages will be ridiculous for any interested club. Think it will be either Galatasaray (seem to be going crazy in the market) or Saudi. Sidebar: Ederson also seems to want out for City, well since last summer. Again seems to be either Galatasaray or Saudi. City have all but signed Trafford from Burnley which is a strange one, will be interesting to see if he goes or Ortega leaves.
July 29, 2025Jul 29 Barca have just signed Joan GarciaLiverpool have Mamardashvili waiting in the wings.Courtois is still at the top of his game at Madrid. We look to be putting all our eggs into the Penders basket for next/the following season.Realistically leaves Bayern or Newcastle who would be able to pay the wages as a CL side or a move to Gala or Saudi. Such a strange career arc overall.
July 29, 2025Jul 29 He’s been getting Saudi money in Paris. He joined during PSG’s ‘galactico’ approach which would have been huge for the ego of a young keeper at the time. He’s won everything in France over and over and last season wrote his name into their history with the CL.His contract is coming to an end and Whether he told them he wanted a fresh challenge or they wanted to go a different way who knows. He is one of the best keepers in the world and still only 26. He could easily wait 5 yrs before taking his Saudi pension. He might fancy the premier league, known as the best in the world going on that CV. Money might not motivate this decision, some sort of deal could be struck.Man U are being linked. I think we should try.

He was trying to pull a fast one on PSG, but they were not having it after their prior experience with Mbappe. Won’t be surprised if his intention was to move to Madrid on a freebie. Left his childhood club on a free transfer after failing to agree a new contract, he is following the same pattern now. Can’t see him at Utd, and Chelsea shouldn’t even bother. Good shot stopper but average with his feet.
July 29, 2025Jul 29 Overrated goalie not worth the money. We definitely need a new goalkeeper but Donnarumma isn’t the one. All eggs in the Penders camp is a risk but missing out on Donnarumma isn’t like losing Courtois or missing out on Allison. Hes not at their level, plenty of cheaper GKs that can perform as well if not better.
July 29, 2025Jul 29 If you think he’s just money motivated then fair enough give him a wide birth cos we won’t pay it anyway, but I don’t see him joining PSG when he did the same as some going to Saudi now or China a few years back. With all the players they were signing he might have thought it was a good ‘project’ to be involved in. The money was nice as well of course. It seems strange to me as well that the only position the club seems to listen to Enzo about is the keeper.

Got all my hopes for this transfer window resting on his shoulders. Young, English, knows the system, already has a rapport with our key players, Premier League proven and the potential to grow even further.Ideally shouldn’t come at the expense of Tosin who I thinks effect on the team goes far beyond the pitch. But this ‘link’ fills me with so much confidence we might actually be taking this soccer thing seriously.
July 29, 2025Jul 29 PSR swap deals aren't a thing anymore I reckon. UEFA have us on probation so any swap deals will certainly raise flags.
July 29, 2025Jul 29 Tosin, having been signed on a free, is unfortunately for him part of the "pure profit" group of players as a result. If BlueCo need to sell one player at first team level (with associated bigger fee) each season for PSR purposes. then the current "at risk" group is as follows :JamesChalobahColwillTosinI think it will boil down to Trev or Tosin for this summer's pure profit exit ... whichever we get a decent offer for first ... Then you've got a secondary group of lesser "pure profit" lights, of which Broja and Gilchrist are almost certainly the dead men walking : GeorgeAcheampongBrojaGilchrist

Just not the ‘pure’ kind. Madueke the same.Dont think we need to sell anyone from the first list. Especially if we can sell the likes of Jackson, Nkunku, KDH etc. With Felix and hopefully Veiga sales we’re already in the £150m plus range. Jackson and Nkunku could be over £100m more.

July 30, 2025Jul 30 Chelsea have set the asking price for Albania striker Armando Broja at £25m, according to The Athletic.
July 30, 2025Jul 30 Morgan Rogers links are exciting but surely its him OR Simons? Pointless signing both.

As for Donnarumma, think I read he wants a pay increase and extension on his contract. He would definitely be an improvement on what we have but his style of traditional keeper will just give us (a far superior) version of Robert Sanchez, where he’s asked to play out constantly and make mistakes and lead to being considered a flop

Maybe leipzig are holding out for 80 million and Chelsea see rogers as a better fit and if we have to spend that much then get our preferred target?
