Before, it would be us going all in for this type of signings that immediately improve the team, and we'd go on to win the PL and/or the CL. I just hope that Arsenal continue with their loser mentality and finishing second in everything.

Maybe my memory is going but I don't recall us ever really going for established top top players so much. Off the top of my head Torres and Shevchenko are the big ones oh and re buying Lukaku possible. Most if not all of the best players like Lampard, Drogba, Hazard for example were seen as prospects but not established stars at the time.

I just hoping we nick in and get Rodrygo and sell Arsenal Madueke in return.

No they won't. That's just silly. You're telling me the guys who sign Kepa and are interested in signing Noni whilst giving obscene wages to has-beens and no-hopers are going to make an astute signing that takes them to the next level?

We'll win trophies for the next decade whilst they're still fumbling around

The difference is that players on the level of Kepa and Madueke would go into Arsenal as squad players, that level of player becomes a regular starter for us.

You’re right in that there are not many players of the quality of those players but, the point I was making stands, we wouldn’t be in for Ballack with this lot in charge.

Could be the case that we are already done with our signings. The media are reporting that we need to make up £60m in player sales to register the players we have signed. So I can't see us signing anybody else untill we get a bunch out.

That does seem likely. And if we are to start signing players again, we'd be better served looking at starting GK and DC, and a backup LB.

Well it closes in 56 days and these negotiating genius SD businessmen have raised a total of £5m so far, which actually wasn't a negotiation at all, just a triggered release clause.

90% of our signings during Romans era were prospects. We were very rarely at the table for the top established stars.

Listening to the latest Matt Law interview on the London is Blue podcast, apparenly we told Benoît Badiashile we want him to stay for next season. Making me wonder what's happening with Marc Guéhi who I still think Chelsea are interested in just because he's in the last year of his contract and Chelsea have a large sell-on clause they would lose if he goes on a free.

I have my doubts that Chelsea will push out Tosin or Chalobah given they are both really happy to be here/won't want to leave, both seem to be loved/popular and leaders in the dressing room, yet I think long term there is probably only room for one of the two.

Disasi is surely going. Alfie Gilchrist is just not Chelsea quality and probably going. Caleb Wiley is someone i've never seen kick a ball so no f*cking clue. Renato Veiga is a massive question mark, he's apparently good but was a complete fish out of water in the inverted LB role we were playing him.

Chilwell is sad. If we can't just sell him, then i'd rather integrate him and use him even if it's just occasionally rather than the horrible isolation he's had from the club. We need left back backup for superhero Cucurella who can't play every single minute of every single game indefinitely.

But that's just the defense.

Nkunku, Felix, Broja, Stirling, Datro Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu...........what a mess.....(but also an opportunity to make some real money to reinvest)

Impossible to happen without a big money departure. Villa will surely not accept anything under 80-90M and we are obliged by the FFP to find a balance between arrivals and departures.

Now that Petrovic is gone, we have currently made around 45M from outgoings, but still need to make another 100M in order to balance the books. It is spread all over the season, so it's doable during this transfer market and the winter one.

Now adding the Morgan Rogers fee to this ecuation turns it into a headache and I am not sure the board is ready to do it for this financial year.

according to transfermarkt we've already made 54m and that doesn't include the Madueke sale which seems imminent that would push us beyond 100
