Was listening to Tim Vickery earlier and it would appear that we are definitely after the Leverkusen CB Piero Hincapie.

Vickery rates him highly and he’s normally spot on. 23 years old and 50 or so caps for Ecuador. £30 odd million.

I rate hincapie highly and think he’s a very good centre back, however, I don’t understand why we’re looking for a left sided centre back. Colwill was looking fantastic before his injury and I hope he can come back from it strong, fofana is pretty much constantly injured so I would much prefer Chelsea to go after a right sided centre back.

Say we get Scalvini in then this season we play with Chalobah, badiashile (should be sold), acheampong, hato as the lcb options and Scalvini, fofana (we’re stuck with him unfortunately) and tosin as rcb options, with colwill coming back next season. acheampong and hato can play as full backs and offer cover there.

If we do that then maybe next season if we can get shot of fofana and badiashile and hato and acheampong are considered as full backs then i could understand Hincapie as that’s colwill, hincapie as lcbs and Scalvini, Chalobah as rcbs and with tosin as depth but keeping everyone happy would be a challenge

1.84m. If we are going to go for a small CB I'd rather we went for a PL established one like Murillo.

Ideally I would prefer somebody 1.90m or above. There is just not enough height in this team atm.

Murillo is an enigma; I feel he is a decent CB with no outstanding qualities who looks very good in a counterattacking Forest side, but would look average in a top side. Find it odd CBs have been on the move to top sides in the PL but no one has bothered to put in a bid for him.

Cause Mr Marinakis and a couple of burly men have had a word with him.

Murillo is on the level of Lewis Dunk imo.

We really did miss a trick with Huijsen

Murillo costs you close to 100M and never plays in a possession based team.

And like Guehi he is also too short to play in defence in this side. The likes of Cucurella and Fernandez defending set pieces against 6' 2 and 6' 3 attacking gives me hives

Pedro, Delap, Palmer, RJ, Tosin/Chalobah all 6ft + and Sanchez can command the box. I don’t think 6ft is an issue for CB

So Maresca doesn’t give a toss about finding a centre back “internally”. Respect that. He’s looked at the options. Fofana and Badashile are crocks. Hato and Acheampong are full backs. Chalobah isn’t suited. Tosin is the only one who can do Colwill’s job and he can’t play every game. And it can’t be a short term measure anyway because Colwill is going to miss most of the season. So Maresca’s gone public to pressure the Board who have likely been telling him to work with what he has.

This is going to be fun.

But he'll lose cos the cretins who brought us Badiashile and Disasi are insistent that we have enough, even though the only centre backs that we have that they were involved in getting are sh*t. Maresca is bang on.

Blimey. Strong stuff from Maresca on the rift with the Board over centre back options.

May as well forfeit the season if we don't sign him a defender he likes, based of what he is saying.

After last night's effort? For whatever reason, Konate has fallen off a cliff over the last 12 months. Used to be solid and reliable, now an accident waiting to happen. True of Liverpool's defence overall so maybe he has caught the bug.

Konate (Age + Wage) doesn’t fit the profile of what we sign under this ownership, lazy rumours for the media darlings trying to generate a transfer fee for a player that’s going to Real on a free next year.

Badiashille isn’t an option to start or even come off the bench, neither is Disasi. Clearly both were some money laundering deal for Monaco.

Fofana can’t be relied on to complete a warm up let alone 90 minutes.

Trev & Tosin are fine.

Hato & Anselmino are unproven.

The issue here is we’ll sign another ‘project’ as opposed to a bonafide day 1 starter. Getting Thiago back on loan for the season is genuinely the smartest and safest bet.

They will try for a loan. No way we get that fee for him. £15m I reckon that they will still dress up as profit.

Latest from Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol:

Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal to sell Renato Veiga to Villarreal in a deal expected to be worth £26m (€30m).

The defender joined Chelsea last summer from Basel for £12m on a contract until June 2031.

That phantom queue for Jackson sure is growing.

Haven't Forest already bought 2 strikers this window on top of having Chris Wood and Awoniyi?

Igor Jesus who was referred to as the Brazilian Drogba during the CWC and recently some guy that sounds like an African mountain.
