I honestly don't see it with Gyokeres. He was hyped big time even in this forum. I have watched him twice this season, big but not super strong, not technically gifted, not particularly fast.

He press hard and he is playing like a st though.

Sums it up. He might come good but I've always had doubts. To progress from a good Championship striker (38 goals in 91 games for Coventry) to a €73m (including add-ons) striker within two seasons is, um, miraculous. 68 goals in 66 Sporting appearances sort of tells a story.

I did see rumours we were interested in a January loan move for Ivan Toney. I would be open to it because he has experience in the league and is a good goalscorer. I'm not sure these young strikers with potential are going to cut it as we need experience up top this season. I worry that we are relying too much on Delap and Pedro.

Also, on a side note, remember when I posted rumours we were linked to Woltemade on here. Doesn't look like such a poor signing now, does it. He would have been a great option for us up top, that's for sure. I think we were interested for far less than what Newcastle bought him for too.

I think they decided on Emegha instead for lower fee. A Haaland sized striker on the cheap basically ... and not on £500K a week either LOL

I am personally confused with this Emegha signing because our manager said we sold our starting st from last season because we already have 2 st.
