I would be careful with the “get the manager who he wants”. If it goes tits up, manager gets paid to go away, and some unknown players on ridiculous contracts.

I am always wary of managers who want to play a back 3 and require specialist players. Remember that one year when Pep, Klopp and others used the back 3. They all abandoned it the season after.

I will say that he and Palestra are very good carriers of the ball. Something a lot of us mentioned we lacked in the squad.

Jorrel Hato, Marco Palestra and Geovany Quenda also capable of filling in at left-back - do we need him? €11.1m for Rayo Vallecano [28].

Can't say i've ever watched him (has anyone ever watched Rayo Valecano?) but his stats look distinctly average.

Saw rumours they'd turned down a 9M bid from us.

So we're likely to counter with a 90M bid next.

Certainly feels like we're shopping in the bargain bin this summer.
