Alex was a beast. Cech kept it respectable in the first half too, toss up between those two.

The travelling fans, showed more passion and probably had more impact on the game than any of players. They were a credit to the club and sung throughout that tragic performance.

Cech for keeping the score respectable just edging out Alex.

Alex for me - while the attack were fairly poor all afternoon, the difference between the first half and second half defensive displays was remarkable. Made a number of outrageous blocks and tackles in the 45 minutes; the score would have been much worse without him...

Give United the trophy and a few oscars to go with it. Disgraceful, especially Rooney.

No better than Barca. And I hope barca murder them in the Champion Leagues. Lesser of two evils.

Yeah Alex for me as well. Put in some great tackles and added some stability to the defence....and that block.

Cech. I think he's probably not had this as much as he should have this year. Probably player of the season. Him or JT.

Ivanovic: because it was a miracle he stayed on the pitch. And it would have taken another miracle or three for us to win the game.

Alex for me. Awesome display, his block on Rooney was as good as I've seen in a long time, didn't put a foot wrong. I think an Alex/David Luiz partnership in a few seasons could be a fantastic one.

Chech for me and Alex the rest what can you say no fight .if they can't get up for this gsme well enough said?

Alex for me, I said before the game he should have started.

Cech, Ramires and Ivanovic were decent. I don't even know where to begin with JT, Essien, Luiz and Cole.

If there is one good thing to come out of today, it is surely that the Kalou debate has been put to bed once, all and finally forever. Without argument, disagreement or further rancour.

Mr Kalou is a substitute and should always be a substitute. Even if we only have ten players at the start of a game.

Most of the team looked jaded today and the Essien Mikel Lampard midfield showed why even when they show glimpses of a return to form, shouldn't play together.

the first two substitutions made a big difference and its a shame we have no in form striker to do the same, I would'nt put any more blame on Kalou than Lampard or Essien who should have had the beating of the opposition but were plainly not good enough on the day.

Alex was great and easily MOM for me.

Bran the Man for me, I wish everyone had his spirit. Petr Cech with an honorable mention, because he was immense as well

Alex for me followed by Cech. Luiz needs to learn from his mistakes. I think next game on the bench may make him learn a bit faster!

alex,he did more in 45 minutes than all the outfield players who put in 90 mins!,and a timely reminder of how good he can be.maybe the huge honeymoon period for luiz is now well and truly over.dont get me wrong i like the guy,but he has quite a bit to learn,and im sure he will.

I would have voted for howard webb given that he denied them two clear cut pens and didn't send ivanovic off, but he is not on the list...to be fair alex showed the kind of attitude and committment that piut most of his team-mates to shame

Ok I'll give it to Alex. Hindsight and all that.

Alex did well and lets be fair , i dont think he even thought he would be coming on at half time, David luiz made a mistake i guess but no player is perfect and hes got plenty of time now to prepare for next season

But yeh alex was my favourite, cech definitly 2nd

Alex was the best player, Cech kept us in the game, by his high standard we expected that. Luiz just need to curb his enthurisasim, he has pace and his positioning is usually good, no need to make rash decisions and go for gold all the time.
