I also had another version of the red/green white scarf but the bars were all the same width

Two of us drove up there and got in a pub near to the ground just after opening time. Bouncer on door checking for Chelsea fans. By about 1pm half the pub was lads we knew, all drifting in in ones and twos. Stood outside the ground waiting for turnstiles to open, and cops were saying game would be off, and then the special arrived. Snowball fight with Speedie was fun long drive back as well those were the days. Edited May 10, 20179 yr by Shug

Yellow + blue were and are my favourite away shirts. The red actually originates from the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea coat of arms. If you look back at the away kits from our early years there is plenty of red featured. Black and white stripes was also very popular.
May 11, 20179 yr Red Green and white kit was copied from Hungary's international team according to Chelsea Programme going back to 1970 something a long while ago http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=hungarys+football+colours&id=A57CC30F2A6E15DA4BC516D3F86DCFFAB2F1EE1D&FORM=IQFRBA The association I believe was to make us think that we were a better team than we were at the time. Quite liked the red green and white kit, certainly liked the scarf and good to see 78s replicating a piece of our history- Edited May 11, 20179 yr by Nitro
May 12, 20179 yr Gola boots. Ah memories of the mid - late 1970s. I'm sure Golas were my first pair of 'proper football boots'.
May 12, 20179 yr In fact I saw someone wearing a pair of blue retro Gola trainers earlier on this week. Sad git that I noticed that I accept...

May 12, 20179 yr Boyne: I preferred adidas but my old dear preferred Gola. They cost about £6-£8 a pair as opposed to the dearer adidas ones back then. My first pair of adidas boots were Hansi Muller and I bought a set of the red nylon studs ! I know, I know...

May 12, 20179 yr As a youngster back on the mid 1970s. I used to get Shoot magazine delivered every week and read it from cover to cover. It was great when the Chelsea team picture or a colour picture of any Chelsea players were in it.
