Help needed, i'm looking for my pic taken from the Barnsley home programme in 84, it shows Chelsea fans at Portsmouth with "TO ALL CHELSEA FANS THANKYOU FOR YOUR MAGNIFICENT SUPPORT THIS SEASON"  i've spent an hour or so going through every page on this thread but cant find it, i'm sure i put it on here, though for some reason some of my pics i've posted have gone & are replaced with a little red X, not sure why? anyone know how to get them back?

I've got the pic somewhere on my old pc but its got a virus so i cant use it at the moment.

After seeing the two colour photos, I never before realised how many fans we had in other parts of Highbury that days.  Bearing in mind our support in the Clockend  just how many did we have there that day?!!

What a pic never seen that angle before. Top day, brought tickets outside for seats in their section  and when we got in it was almost 50/50, quality!

I've heard 20,000 out of the 45,000 crowd,  Having been there I thought that was generous to us, but look at the photo and it shows that we had a lot in their seats.  I was in their West Stand and didn't realise how many we had in all parts of the ground.

My thoughts exactly.  I went with the then to be wife and she fainted in the heat.  We were in the Clockend just out of shot to the right in the BW picture above, also that photo only shows about 2/3rds of the end.  Incredible support.

It was a special match for us at the time. First top flight game for 5 years. Pay on the gate. In London.Hardly suprising really. Think their was over 15000 CFC there.

  1. Thanks for this picture I remember it I was in the Clockend that morning I still recons it was one of the best away support I ever saw.

We were every that day even in the Northbank.

And I went to 99% of the matchs then home and away.

To this day apart from CWC final l say this was the best away support l ever witness. And we stayed in the Northbank most of the match in the left hand corner looking from the clockend

Cracking picture (from many on this thread) from a day that will always live in the memory.

Talking of memories......err, what was I saying? ......oh yeah.If my crusty old grey cells are working correctly,I distinctly remember a firework (possibly a

banger) being set off just after Man-with-the Mullet Paul Mariner had given the arse the lead.

Or maybe not?.

At least I can remember Mariner's mullet.

Thing is,I'm 100% sure I have a 'The Big Match' video recording of this game (with the late Brian Moore) doing the commentry that might confirm this (the firework not the mullet) but, I'm 100% sure i've no idea where it is.

It's probably dust by now anyhow, but as I have another bet on it, I would be gratefull if anyone else's could confirm this did indeed happen.

Cheers.
