January 11, 201511 yr johnny neal's boys v The gers bradford city fire fund 1985. Missed this game was playing football myself that night. But made up for it by going up to ibrox for the return in feb86. Freezing cold, and went from Beckenham to Glasgow in a minibus! We lost 3-2 I think. also the floodlights failed one side of the ground, referee went to take players off to a chorus of boo's so game played out with reduced lighting. Great day and experience.

January 12, 201511 yr johnny neal's boys v The gers bradford city fire fund 1985. Surprised we didn't let more in, no GK in the Chels lineup

Was at the game at the Bridge in 1985. I think the crowd was less than 10,000. I think Duncan Shearer got the other goal. If memory is correct, Dale Jasper was a sub for the game and during the match he disappeared. Tannoy announcements were made and the crowd started singing "Jasper, where are you." And a few months later we played Liverpool at Anfield. The score was 1-1 and there were about 1,000 Rangers fans standing alongside us in the away end.

January 14, 201511 yr Richard P: That game v Rangers was on 14th Feb 1986 and a Friday night. Yes the floodlights went off and from memory it was freezing.
January 14, 201511 yr Remember the game at Anfield- morning kick off with everyone wearing the Chelsea- Rangers bobble hats. In the Anfield Rd end segregation wasn't great- all their young men seemed to all arrive at the same time- snarling away whilst donning those ridiculous Peter Storm kagooles. They may lay claim to the originators of casual but they didn't carry it off particularly well

Got oldtimers disease and don't remember the lights going off. But I do remember some Rangers taking the overnighter back with us to enjoy a weekend of debauchery in London Fk me 29 years ago!

Sold them on the train up there .

Can't believe the plod tried to put a line in between us!! Loved the way they wound up scousers with their Catholic and political songs. Great and unusual day, Rangers seemed to pick games after that for the next few seasons I think.

January 15, 201511 yr Renfrew Juniors (My local Scottish non league side which gave us Charlie Cooke) are moving from their home of 103 years Western Park. They are moving west just along the A8 road a couple of hundred metres to a new purpose built ground in the Renfrew Blythswood Industrial Park. It is hoped that the new ground will be completed by the end of February. Wasn't sure where to put this. Oh and Renfrew Juniors also play in Blue

January 15, 201511 yr Talking of scousers, does anyone remember the game at Liverpool- mid 90s Im guessing when loads of Chelsea went in fancy dress- curly perms, taches, shell suits- CALM DOWN CALM DOWN! Very, very amusing. Another good one was Sheffield Utd when everyone went with flat caps, braces etc- bloke next to me had a plastic pigeon on top of his cap.... Torn up pieces of Hovis for ticker tape! Might have been last away of the season circa 93?

Torn up pieces of Hovis for ticker tape! Might have been last away of the season circa 93? Talking of scousers and shell suits some guys I know went to Anfield a few years ago - it might have been the 4-1 game. The drove up. On reaching Liverpool they pulled into a garage to fill up with petrol. A scouser in a Lamborghini drove into the gagage; got out of the car. And yes, he was wearing a shell-suit. They pissed themselves laughing. After they game, they went into one of the Working Mens's Clubs. There was a raffle. They entered the raffle. Their tickets were pulled out. They had given false names: D Drogba, W Gallas and J Terry etc. Took a while for the guy calling the raffle as to what was going on.

January 16, 201511 yr johnny neal's boys v The gers bradford city fire fund 1985. I went to this game. Seem to remember being in the East stand and Rangers fans were in the Shed? Was it because they had more support than us? It was an amazing turn out by them. The fire was on the Saturday and the game was only a few days later but they outnumbered us by 3 to 1. I know we had a connection before with them before, because Celtic are Arsenal, United and Liverpool but this is when I think the strong links started. Not sure if we were in awe of their support or a bit embarrassed of ours?

Not sure if we were in awe of their support or a bit embarrassed of ours? but no doubt most of them were "exiles" The game was hastily arranged, but remember, it wasnt unusual for fa cup replays to be played 3 days after the first match. From memory the crowd was a dissapointing 8/9000. I think you are over egging the rangers contribution as well but they still had about 2500 down although no doubt most of them were "exiles" living down here Edited January 16, 201511 yr by Chelseaboy
